This is feast or famine, agony or ecstasy, the best of times or the worst of times. Either we claim history or Saban and Bama wrest it all away from us.
I couldn't have put it better myself. You are 100% correct!

It'll make the SEC championship feel a little less special to me because Bama will have an even bigger prize.
This.

So this game is not the most important
On the contrary, because it's against our most hated (these days) and competitive rival that the stakes are ratcheted up even more. If you are a legitimate college football fan you would certainly understand this.

We have been at the top for years.
Oh, really? Where were we just a season and a half ago when time had expired (the first time) and we lost to UT? Would you say we were "on top" then? Wow! What I'm trying to say here is that we need to live in the moment. Seize the day! Next year's promised glory may not come to fruition. Things can change quickly. As fast as LSU became extremely sucessful this year they could just a quickly slide next year if just the wrong things happened. So LSU really, really needs to take care of business on 1/9/11 to help solidify what this team has acomplished this year and the overall veiw of the program. This game is HUGE, the biggest ever, I say.

Not even close. The Bama game last year was much more impt. If LSU loses that game, there would have been a decent chance Miles would have been gone. The fans definitely would have wanted him gone and LSU could have possibly been looking for a new coach.

Not saying this assumption isn't correct... but Holy Freakin' Cow, if LSU fans are THIS fickle, they deserve to go 0-11. The same dumbasses fired Charlie Mac years ago only to start a long, painful decline that took nearly 20 years to undo.
