Two crazy talented players like this at Walker in basketball. Thomas could hoop and Cook was a really good football player too.

They won the 5A state title Cook's sophomore year and BTJ's freshman year. BTJ won MVP of the tourney as a 15 year old freshman.

Looks like you didn’t “win” a high school diploma.

Gross. Really wish he would have stayed one more year and a little bit more after being reminded of that.

Amazing wade buried him on bench and lsu lost him
What a great coach
Cook is ten times better than Gaines that season

You’re an idiot. And obviously don’t know basketball.

Cook wanted more playing time understandably but Gaines was MUCH MUCH better on the defensive side, specifically switching, because of his length and athleticism.
Our team had other players that did all the scoring so Cook’s offense wasn’t needed as much as defense.

I wish he would’ve stayed at the time too but understand why he left as it was better for him to get playing time

I’m fairly certain you’re misunderstanding his post. I believe he’s saying that it wasn’t “chance” (aka luck) that brought them a state championship

go back to bed you are drunk!

Cam Thomas and Javonte were starters on that team and took most of the shots! Gaines got more playing time frankly because he brought more to the table on the press and from a defensive stand-point.

Can’t we just appreciate that Jalen cook is back

Gaines was really good for us his sophomore year and fit the team identity better

Cook went to Tulane, honed his skill, and lsu is better off for it

I saw them play Javonte and Scotlandville twice that year. Both epic games.
