Imagine being the old guys who watch the news in Forrest Gump (LSU Football)

Except only LSU Football headlines. Based on my view multiple times of the movie (have not yet read the book), I estimate these guys were watching headlines (at the barber?) from roughly 1956 to 1982 (but somehow they never really aged?) . That’s only 26 years, but a lot changed during that time.
