It isnt like football where you have 4-5 totally different systems. Its easier to turn around a basketball team than Football mainly because you only need 1 great player.

its not about the systems. When you recruit to get 3 guys a season, you spend more time with a guy. You dont get in on a player during his sr year, you start recruiting him as a freshman.

I agree you can land 1 good player and change a team, but most of those players leave after 1 year anyway.

Exactly. Calipari definitely did not take 4 years at Kentucky adn Gillespie was a fricking mess for their program.

Just gotta recruit. Trent has a solid player who can help us make a run next year to a possible 2nd round or even sweet 16, but he refuses to drive 70 miles to go visit him.

I agree that Trent needs to recruit better. But Calipari is an elite recruiter at an elite program, so that comparison is hard to make. They aren't many recruiters like Calipari or many programs as storied as Kentucky.

And the whole Gathers thing has been refuted by coaches at Riverside.

Alabama is a horrible example of this, btw. Grant hasn't turned around anything.

I dislike our shot selection at times as well. I don't mind Stringer, Turner, and Hickey having a green light, but that shouldn't include 25+ footers(Turner takes a hell of a lot less bad shots this year than last year).

Calipari was recruiting the kids he has at Kentucky when he was at Memphis. That is an awful comparison. Recruiting in basketball is not a one or two year thing like football.

You're fricking clueless if you actually believed Ricardo Gathers' comments on the situation (assuming that's who you are referring to). Those comments have been denied by TJ, Riverside's bball coach and a Riverside football coach.
