I've been out of cell service since Wednesday morning. Watched LSU knock Tennessee out Tuesday night in a bar in Dubois, Wyoming.
I was thrilled to find out we beat Wake Forest. Can someone give me a brief rundown of those games?
I heard that Wake Forest loaded the bases in 2nd inning?
Thanks!
p.s. sucks to be on the trail during the CWS.

Nobody on either team made it to 3rd base until the 8th inning (last night).

Starting pitchers dominate, tre makes amazing play at home to keep score 0-0. Tanks walks it off bottom 11

Wednesday game:
Started Javin Coleman; wake loaded the bases in the first inning but no runs
We went down in the first on about 2 pitches total (sarcasm) and in the top of the 2nd Coleman and Money combined to allow 2 runs. Herring came in and shut them down.
Bottom of 2nd we scored a run, and then in the 3rd we scored 4 more including a 3-run bomb by Beloso.
Going into the 4th the score was 5-2 Tigers and that's how it ended - Herring, Guidry and Cooper held Wake scoreless from the 3rd inning on.

Thursday game:
Skenes vs Lowder, incredible pitching. Scoreless game entering the 8th inning and Skenes allows a walk; then on a wild pitch on strike 3, Wake has 1st and 3rd with 1 out. The most incredible defensive play ever then ensued -- obvious bunt situation, Wake bunts down the 1st base line. Tre Morgan crashes the bunt and quickly flips it to Milazzo to nail the runner at home.

Skenes works 8 innings scoreless, Hurd pitches 3 more scoreless and then we get to the bottom of the 11th with Crews, White and Morgan due up. Crews hits a two-strike base hit to left; Wake goes to their closer to face White...and White crushes the first pitch into the left field seats. Ball game, 2-0 in 11 innings.

Enjoy the trail!

First WF got up 2-0 after loading the bases. In the 3rd we loaded the bases too. WP scored Crews, then Beloso hits a 3 run bomb. We win 5-2. Herring pitched 4.2 great innings.

Second game was 0-0 going into bottom of the 11th. Skenes was Skenes. WF pitching was great. Tanks hits a 2 run bomb in the 11th to walk it off.

We held WF scoreless for 18 innings in a row.

Thank you so much! Great recap.
I assume Skenes got the SEC strike out record. What is his total so far?

So far I've hiked all of New Mexico, skipped Colorado (way too much snow) hiked most of Wyoming, hiking into Yellowstone in a few days, working my way to Canada, then go back and do Colorado when the snow is gone.
I think I'll take tomorrow off and watch the CWS :)

Yes - he's at 209 for the season.

Biggest point to drive home here is that LSU held Wake scoreless for the last 18 innings they played. LSU wasn't prolific on offense by any stretch, but it's easy to win games when the other team can't score on you!

Must be nice. I love hiking, but not that much. You should’ve taken a break and watched the Tigers win!

Yes, trying to! I hope I can finish before I miss too much of the football season. It's looking like late October.

LSU has pitched the best in the WS up to this point, to the tune of a 1.57 era.

Starting Pitchers battle into the 8th. Trey Morgan makes a play on a suicide squeeze and jeters the runner out at home that would have won it. Relievers came in the 9th no runs until the bottom 11 when crews led off with a single they brought in their closer and Tommy white put history in the left field bleachers.

Can confirm way to much snow still I did mt bierstadt on Monday and could see grays peak directly across which lies on the divide and there was still a ton of snow. Will be waiting till late July- august to do another 14er.

Edit: While repping lsu gear of course
