he is an average to slightly above average in game coach
i can't for the life of me understand how people get these fool ideas. every person on espn who calls lsu games or analyzes them praises wade for how much he throws at the opposing team. he's installed multiple defensive looks that he utilizes throughout. he is 2nd to none on set plays/inbounds. he calls timeouts at the right time. his offense rarely looks lost. he usually gets the ball to the right player at the right time

there's no way a person wins as much as he does, or cal for that matter, and is an "above average" coach. the guy went on a 2 year conference road game winning streak. that is unheard of.

Basically it’s football fans who think you should win every game. Like the folks who panic over midweek baseball losses

It’s just a different mentality about the game that doesn’t translate from football to other sports

Cal is a charlatan. Dirty as the day is long. Mediocre coach who works for a school that pays more for players than anyone else, that’s all. When kids are able to go straight to the NBA out of high school in a few years, let’s see how good he is.

Definitely a good coach but I wish he would had developed the bench earlier in the year. That may come to bite us down the stretch.

Yeah, one thing I would have liked to have seen is Bishop get a little PT. WW was playing him early - even in some of the more competitive OOC games but lots of DNP's lately.

let's be honest. it's starting to become apparent that wade isn't an elite defensive coach.

This. He's preached defense since his arrival but we don't play it. Wade's done wonders in his short time here but pump the breaks. His teams are tough in close games and we've won a ton of nail biters. We rarely dominate on the scoreboard.

The fan support and atmosphere at the PMAC is pitiful.
IF we beat Alabama today, the atmosphere in the PMAC against Kentucky on Tuesday night will be electric. (Not 1980-81 electric, but still the best in several years)

Maybe the little darlings will show up because the game will be such a big "See and be Seen" social event......

I agree, I can't imagine how far along we would be had he landed the recruiting class he was working on last year before the Alleva debacle

Not much basketball knowledge on this board.
One posters claims he doesn't coach offense.
Check where we rate offensively nationally and in the SEC.
Others say we don't play defense.
We don't have the players to play good defense.
Listen to Coach Wade's weekly press conference. He explains it all. The rumors last year screwed up recruiting. Two more committed and another leaning when Alleva struck. All were 6'5 or better. Then Manning gets injured.
We were forced to use Taylor and Wyatt to defend quicker guards vs Vandy and Auburn. Taylor is great when defending a three or four but not point guards.
Plus, if we guard a three point shooter close we risk fouling. Once they foul out who takes their place?
