by LSUMatt to educate yourself on the BCS Scenarios. It's up to 7 pages but well worth the 10-15 minute read to understand the scenarios. OSU loss is incorporated around p. 6, but LSU gets a mulligan and WILL be in Championship Game with only 1 loss!! Can we get a Sticky?????
LSUMatt - Excellent BCS Analysis!

I am looking at the top of the board are you?

I did also. Think it will be stickied in the next few hours. It's an excellent read and backed up with stats.

you don't need that many pages
if LSU wins out, we're in
if all the other teams in the top 10 win, and OU beats OSU, they're likely in. if OU loses to OSU, then we're likely facing Oregon
if LSU loses before the SECCG, then Bama will likely go there and to the title game against Oregon

LOL. That is why you need to read the thread. Your opinion has no basis. LSUMatt backs up his opinion with FACTS AND MATH. LSU will still be in the championship with 1 loss.

Where are your FACTS Jake??? SHOW YOUR MATH!!!

his facts and math can't account for voters and their 2/3 control of the BCS, my friend. it's all in the voters hands

at this point math is irrelevant. it's all up to the voters

good one. I like how you mess with the rant.
you don't think they'd push bama? the voters and national media prefer bama to LSU and this give them their "out"
it's a similar reason why LSU (if we win out) is likely to face OU. voters love putting OU in the title. having oregon and bama as kind of iffy options makes it that much easier

No it isn't. Our computer rankings are far and above any of the other teams, and with one loss, we still have the best computer rankings. We'd have to drop to 4 or 5 in BOTH Harris and Coaches poll not to finish in the top 2 of the BCS at the end of the year, and that won't happen unless we lose at least 2 games. Do yourself a favor and read Matt's analysis. Then, I'd be happy to hear your opinion on who gets in over LSU and how...
Posted on 11/19/11 at 10:10 am to SlowFlowPro
Exactly. No one knows what the voters are going to do. With that being said the voters are slightly overrated. It's likely all the teams 1-5 will be so damn close they won't have a significant value over the other. If we lose to arkansas, Number 5 may be separated by number 1 by 100 votes which makes all teams virtually equal.

which is very likely
do you remember how LSU got super help from the voters at the end of 2007? yeah, that would happen, in reverse
and we as LSU fans can't complain b/c we only made it in 2007 b/c of voter shenanigans
the same thing will happen if LSU wins out and the voters don't want a rematch. Bama will go down to 4/5 and OU will go up to 2

Bama would probably need 90% of voters. when push comes to shove they aren't going to be put bama above LSU when LSU had a better record, tougher SOS, beat Bama on the road, and actually won their division. They'll get some votes but not the vast majority they'll need.

why not?
they'll use the les miles "didn't lose in regulation" argument and then say that LSU lost to an inferior team
remember OU v UT v TT in 2008? who won that battle? the most popular team (OU)

Being 4 doesn't matter if you are 50 points from being 2nd

You mean because voters objectively looked at all the factors and voted correctly for a change?
