People get hurt all the time. Comparatively this virus doesn’t hurt many people. Definitely not enough to stop the entire world in its tracks that’s for damn sure.

He's a college kid. When his coaches aren't in his face, he eats like he wants to. Same as every other player on the team. If their coaches or nutritionists controlled their every calorie, none of them would drink, either. But most of them do. Again, they are college kids. They don't follow the recommendations.

The fact that he has "a lot of weight to lose" puts him at risk. He's lost 40 lbs, and he still weighs 340 lbs. That alone puts him in the "highly vulnerable" group. And you're kidding yourself if you don't think he has high cholesterol, blood pressure, etc, to go along with it. You don't weigh 375 lbs as a teen without long-term health consequences.

Fatass linemen at "BIG TIME schools" aren't any less fatass than fatasses who don't play college sports at all. And the NCAA can't make a rule that says, "Fatass linemen at big schools are okay, but fatass linemen at smaller schools aren't." If you're 6'3", 340 lbs, it doesn't matter where you go to school or how much you work out. You're morbidly obese, either way, which puts you at high risk.

So answer the question...What would you say to Shelvin about playing this season, if he were your son? People keep "yeah but"-ing, but no one will answer the question.

Then fatties and old people need to stay home, we can't destroy the nation over a cold that has a 99.999% survival rate for healthy people.

Yes, I actually think he'd be in a more controlled environment than he would be if he didn't have football. I've seen the protocols LSU has set down and honestly I'd rather have him in that environment than sneaking off to meet friends with basically no rules or sense of protocol.

Plus, I think like the flu most of us are going to get this eventually and if he gets it in the team environment they have medical personnel readily available at the drop of a hat.
