re: If you want Bama to beat A&M, you are not an LSU fan

Not every season yields same results lets take care of business and worry about us growing a pair and beating their arse and not A&M doing the dirty work again. The reason we are losing players in recruiting is WE are losing to BAMA. WE need to get our shite together. Another reason Saban is recruiting in LA besides its stacked with talent. He coached here he knows the territory he knows where the hot spots are that have blue chip recruits. Lets not go full retard on this one. Saying your not a fan if you dont want A&M to win is just as retarded as saying you are an LSU fan for wanting A&M to win.

Living in Houston, I can no longer stand the A&M circle jerk every day of the fricking week. I hope that the Tide throttles the Aggies.

quote:Go watch Bama's BCS game the next year- I think they had 42 points up by then. They might have beaten us solidly in our game, but we never fricking broke on defense. It was a slow death, but we made them work all damn game for it.
People forget that at one point late in the 3rd quarter, Bama had totally dominated the game-- but we were still within striking distance at 15-0).
they did not cross the 50 yard line the entire game. Why would you want to justify arguably the most embarrassing game in LSU history?
I don't get and never will understand an LSU fan pulling for Alabama.
And sorry, no- if you think losing a national title game is the most embarrassing loss in a school's history, then you need to get over it. Embarrassing is watching your team lose at home to a scrub, like Michigan dropping one in the Big House, as a top 5 team, to Appalachian St. Embarrassing is the Texas defense giving up 550 yds on the ground to a team they should out-class.
Out of curiosity, would you consider the most embarrassing loss in Florida State history the 52-20 loss to Florida, in their rematch in 96?

21-0 on a national stage is embarrassing. This isn't debatable. You're delusional.

I have to admit I have wanted Bama to win and put JFB in his place...that was till I listen ended to Jacob Hester, yeah that Jacob Hester on the Tim Fletcher show this morning saying that he was OK with JFB, and Bama was LSUs biggest rival not A&M. As Hester put it as loss for Bama helps our recruiting! Geaux A&M!

If that's delusional, then thanks, I'll keep my delusions.

Of course it's bad. It's the BCS championship game. The entire nation is watching you. Ask Bills fans how they feel about losing those Super Bowls. No one in their right mind wants to lose a title game.

Roll over the MF Schwaggies!!! F em hard

I guess the best option according to you is to root for A&M and have two teams in the West to deal with in recruiting. A&M's rise will without a doubt eat into our Texas pipeline for recruiting. Also not to mention we have gone up against them already just as often in recruiting battles as BAMA which will only get more prevalent as they get more successful. I don't know how you can be so blinded to one side or the other then call others not LSU fans because they don't share your reasoning. You are in a dimension of Bamaessed upon no return.

Bama is a threat to in-state recruiting. I'm not worried about aTm replacing LSU as the 2nd best in the west. I'm want LSU to replace Bama as 1st.
The Texas recruits we get every year are far more important than the one or two recruits we lose to Saban. People just get butthurt because it's Saban. He's not really doing that much damage though.
Look at the Texas recruits we've gotten over the years, then look at the miniscule number of recruits Saban has stolen from LA, and you'll see it's no contest. LSU absolutely needs Texas recruits to remain competitive. A&M needs to be crushed.

It actually may not matter who wins. The media has a love fest with both these teams. The love fest will continue the whole season. Just the way it is.

You sir are a DA. No bigger LSU fan and hope Alabama beats JM by 50. If we can't beat Alabama we don't deserve to win SEC west. How you could be a football fan and pull for Manzeil amazes me.

I would love for both TAMU and LSU to be undefeated in November. That would be a great game in Baton Rouge.
Posted on 9/13/13 at 11:51 pm to Paul Allen
Yeah, Ed Paris? Tony Brown? You can kiss those kind of players goodbye if A&M maintains a level of prominence in the SEC. We'll get shut out of Houston. That hurts LSU a lot more than 1 recruit a year lost from LA to Saban.
Texas is LSU's most important OOS pipeline. We get shut out of Texas, things get bad for LSU. LSU can't prevent that one oddball from going to Bama now and then. A&M is the bigger long-term threat.

Let me tell you something, pal. The only thing I want out of Alabama is to see them line up across from LSU in a national title game and to watch them slowly choke-raped like they did us. That's the only thing that will begin to repay what took place on 1/9. Every year I will pull for LSU to beat Alabama in the regular season and go undefeated and for Bama to back into the title game.
Beyond that i don't give two fricks about what happens to Alabama.

OK, how about a practical reason to pull for Alabama as an LSU fan-
we want to win the BCS, right? Well, to win, we first have to get there. Right now, we're ranked 8th in the polls. We're gonna need some love to move up significantly, even if we run the table. Sure, we would move past Louisville, no matter what. That's 7. We beat A&M and Alabama, that's 5th. Oregon or Stanford will lose, since they play- that's 4th.
If A&M wins tomorrow they will NOT be #1; Oregon will be, and would stay that way for a large part of the season. And when you look at it, the schedule sets up for Stanford to play #1 and get the boost late- they'd be around 4th so they should get to 2nd on that. So by A&M winning, the Pac 12 has an inside track to one of the spots in the big game.
So let's look at the other teams- Ohio St and Clemson. Surely we'll move past Ohio St, they don't play anyone... right? Ohio St, the nation's darling, coached by Urban Meyer, without a loss in the past 2 years... um, I dunno. Not sure I'd bet on that.
Clemson? If they run the table, that means wins over UGA, SC, Miami (which just beat Fla) and Fla St (which also might beat Fla).If you're following along, that means Clemson will have beaten either the SEC East champ, or an ACC team that did. Plus, just for the respect/lack thereof issue that will come into play when teams pass each other late- Clemson did beat us last year in the bowl.
How do you get that extra bit of juice to move up? Do you hope playing a bunch of ranked SEC teams gets you some love? Well, with UGA and Fla already going down to ACC teams (and South Carolina being in line to do so too), that might not be enough.
How about going into Bryant Denny Stadium and beating the undefeated, top-ranked and two-time defending national champions on prime time? THAT would get us some notice. You follow it up with a win over A&M at home, and we get in.
Long and windy- but the short and sweet is- if A&M wins, it's up in the air. We probably don't get past 3rd, behind Oregon and Clemson. If Alabama wins, we likely get a rematch with Clemson, or a matchup with Oregon.
