This. I've rewound and looked at that play a few times and I feel it is a poorly-designed play, or wasn't executed correctly by Mett. The blocking back is on his left, leaving no protection at all on the right, where the blitz came from. They need to change that if Mett is truly supposed to do a 3 step drop.

Otherwise, it looked like Mett was supposed to check the receiver to the right, who was wide open in the case of a blitz, and Mett instead locked in on the trio of receivers on the left side.

I'm glad these things happened against NTx, gives us a chance to iron out the kinks.
