I have loved some LSU catchers over years.

Brady Neal is a douche bag.

I just think unless Larson played first base.. which def could happen on this squad.. he’s not replacing anyone in that outfield still

That’s my point though. He’s in the same situation at Texas. He’s mostly been a platoon DH and has just 50 ABs in 31 games, which is why I said maybe he regrets not going to a program that isn’t a Texas or LSU level program. He left to get more time in his money year. That hasn’t really happened

Yeah he had great range and a cannon for an arm. Just not not super fundamentally sound.

I thought Ryan was a defense first guy too, and was going to mention him in my "who would you want" response, but then checked his numbers and was like agh never mind

Here's the rub, LSU fans don't like any of our catchers while there here but they love them after they leave.
Meh people loved Travinski's bat and Milazzo's glove. McManus was a mixed bag, but Milazzo was worthless at the plate in '22. People loved Luis. Solid glove and solid bat.

No other catchers of importance have transferred out as far as I can remember.

This includes Brady Neal. He got sh@t on by our fan base more than Arambide is getting this season.
That's because he came in with the hype of Arrambide, but performed way worse than him. He hit .143 and had a .590 OPS in conference play.

On top of that, he was an a-hole, demanded a starting role, and left LSU to go Alabama at the first sign of trouble, after Jay bent over backwards to get him on the field. Then, he continued playing like absolute garbage until this year. His growth was anything but linear. Funny enough, he's in the exact same position this year from a defensive prospective (platooning behind the plate, getting DH opportunities) as he would have been at LSU in '25 or '26.

Brady Neal is playing in the OF now. He’s not catching. Lol

That's great.

Give me Larson or Costello.

I actually think I'd take Costello and put him at 1st.
