He threw a pick six right off the bat against GA, then again when we were getting somewhat close near the end, and threw a pick six against Bama when we had the lead.
Look, I hate that JL had all of the picks, which I think most people believe were a big part of the losses. If he hadn't have thrown them, I think a few outcomes would have been different, which would have led to a better season and a different perception of LSU this year. We lost the Arky game WITH JJ, but that was last year's JJ. The only reason Les HAD to put him in against Ole Miss and Arky was because JL was just not having a good season. I don't think last year's JJ was better than last year's JL, and he may not even be better than this year's JL, but he looked solid in Seattle.

Then he tied it at 7-7, but Ga reeled off 2 straight TDs without an int. JLee played from behind the rest of the game.
And its easy to forget that Bama drove right down on the very 1st possession to the goal line, and Chad saved the TD with a fumble out of the end zone, and then Byrd tips the ball 3 times before the int. that gave Bama the lead And Bama drives down on our D the last drive, but only a blocked FG forces it into OT.
JLee had little D support. the Bama game is really the only game that the D played decent for him. But not even this years JJ wins the Troy game. So its a wash.

what was score with about 7mins to go in that game?
hint... we were losing.
FYI he completed 4 3rd and longs.. last on to dickson that put us at the 2 yrd line.

nope... I seem to remember an injury in there somwhere.
FWIW I agree JJ looked solid in seattle.
As i said before I wasnt overly impressed, but he looked solid... lets see how things go for him another 11 times.

The very first play of the game was a pick six against GA. Don't you think everybody on the team and everyone in the stands said "shite, when will this stop?" In the Bama game, there was no interception that put Bama ahead, just the one that tied it up after we had stopped them four straight times after we took the lead. I really don't see why so many feel the need to try to defend JL, it just was what it was. Clearly his play was a big part of the losses, because no one in history ever came close to throwing that many pick sixes in a season, much less a career. He had the misfortune to be thrown into that situation before he was ready and that really sucked for him and us. I agree the defense sucked, but I still think they were affected by the offense constantly giving up points more than he was affected by the defense sucking.

Interesting, but when you apply that to Locker and UW, it doesn't hold true. Locker put up almost 500 yards of offense, and had the ball for an unbelievable 37 minutes. Did he affect the defense? Now reverse that, JJ had few mistakes. Did his play inspire our defense? Do they look better with QB play like Saturday, than they did with poor QB play last year? Few posters seem to think so.
An offense that is playing from behind is forced to do things they would not do. An offense that is ahead, can be risky, with big rewards. The defense usually sets the tone of the game, far more than the offense. Remember, defense wins championships

I think poor play, namely giving up points while on offense, has a much greater effect, negatively on a defense, than good play by the offense can have a positive effect on the defense. It's just the nature of the beast because it is so emotional. Although, if an offense has very big scoring plays, which UW did not have, that could fire up a defense, kinda like our defense played better after we had some big scoring plays.

Would have been a little better, but not 14-0.

No way 14-0. I really dont see us any better using another QB. Hatch played against Auburn with little success. We lose that one with any other QB. The D gave up 38 to Ga, no other QB on the team wins that one, same with Fla. Bama probably becomes a win. JJ played against Troy with little success, so no other QB wins that one. JJ also played against Ole Miss and Ark, and both were still losses. And any LSU QB would beat Ga. Tech if the D gave up only 3 pts.
So with any other QB last year, LSU finishes 7-6 is my guess.

I think 8-5 actually. JJ isn't going to change Ole Miss, Ark, UF, or UGA. I think we probably lose to Auburn, but beat Bama.
FWIW, I'd be more likely to say 7-6 than 9-4 too.

We fell behind AUB. becuase of a pick six by JL.
we fell behind GA because of a pick six jl was not under presure!
we lost to ala because of 4 ints..
With JJ of this season we beat GA and al. and maybe olemiss.
Fla. may have been much closer.
10-2

And then won because of a JL TD. Do you think a barely 18 year old JJ would do that much better?

And tied the game up after a JL TD pass to Byrd the very next drive. We couldn't stop anyone, so unless JJ was going to put a headset on and call the defensive plays, we lose that game too.

I said we win that game.
