the basis of this offense is a lot of motions so you can create a multiple threat offense and use a lot of a teams talent..gus malzahn really reintroduced this to college football at arkansas..ive learned under him as a player and coach his offense now..heres how i think it should be:
qb/sheppard
rb/scott
left wr/lafell
left slot/murphy
right slot/jefferson
right wr/tolliver or reuben

with two qbs n it gives us more options to throw and both run well as well..with a stronger slot hes able to make cut backs and run through line..defense wont kno what to do with shep, scott, and murphy being able to run or pass.. thats just my idea for it

nutt ran similar shite with matt jones back there years before malzhan showed up

rich rod (and others) brought the option back in vogue much more than gus malzhan (who is primarily a spread guy)

ok well nutt just ran jones, not many options there...rich ran the option not much of a problem unless ur georgia..in one play u have 3 possible run threats and a pass threat..and evidentally his offense worked after the many yards it racked up on our #1 ranked defense

yeah ced cobbs never got any yards at arky

WV's option was incredible against almost all competition

our D wasn't that amazing in 2007, plus we were hurt, plus that was nutt's offense

if malzhan was so happy about "his" offense tearing up CFB, why did he get so pissed when "his" offense became the arky staple?

the arky staple? you really believe Nutt came up with that offense? please...go back and watch the 05 Springdale Bulldog team and youll see that offense, just they passed more, which Nutt wouldnt let his OC do..all he did was take a lot of different plays and combine them into one play to create mismatches(sweep, power, and qb draw, and pass)..and WVUs offense would be average n a real conference...they go into bowl games after not playing anybody really all season and have fresh legs against Georgia and Chokelahoma

because he had mich mustain and casey dick at QB and monk at WR. nothing else

when they went to all run/option, arky took off. i mean they went from a shite team to the SEC West champs in 06

kinda like how florida's spread option run-based offense has been average in the SEC?

It would be nice if Trindon was on the field more often but that will get tougher IMO. Seems to me, everytime he's in the game, he gets the ball. The defenses know that too.

yea no WR threat? guess Damian Williams has been pathetic in college i dont know guess ive not been paying attention...and your really gonna compare West Virgina talent to the talent in Florida? there is no comparision, occasionally they get a pat white, noel devine, or steve slatton...but comparing them to Floridas staff is pretty stupid

he was a true freshman at the time and didn't really do anything special

no, but WV had different pieces and ran a slightly different version of the offense

they only lost when pat white got hurt until stewart tried to turn them into a spread team last year

not many freshman wrs can b amazing as true freshman, especially with casey dick..and u can take WVUs offense and install it n LSU or Florida and it would probably work with the talent, but put it at kentucky or south carolina and it would most likely fail..and pat white worked against big east teams..put them against a LSU, USC, Florida defense and u think it would perform at the same level?

WV was the team i was most worried about LSU facing in a bowl in 2007. we had no response to the option offense

and they did spank the shite out of UGA offensively in the 2005 sugar

WVU had not played a team all season that had speed at almost every position like LSU..yea and apperantly Georgia cant stop the option, georgia tech this season had how many rushing yards against Georgia this season, so you maybe need to look at the coaching there

WV had more talent for the option scheme than arky (not as high of a peak, but better depth for the scheme) and arky spanked us

LSU's defensive speed is more a myth than reality. we had 4.55-4.65 DBs and LBs who were either hurt, sucked, or were slow

idk about you, but id rather have McFadden/Jones/Hillis over White/Slaton/Devine any day...yea LSU has no speed, look at what happened to Ohio St against SEC or Big 12 against SEC...Ole Miss whipped Texas Tech...there is plenty of hard hitting speed on our defense
