ok. just the last two years were "down", which is to say, not good and perhaps, you think, not typical.

I agree.

some year when Louisiana has one guy in the top ten (like they nearly always do in football), we can talk again about it.

They don't necessarily always have a guy in the top 10, although they have recently and will in the near future. But they always have a bunch of really good players. Hell, in 2006 LSU made the final four with a starting 5 all from Louisiana. 4 from the Baton Rouge area alone. And their 6th man was from Baton Rouge.

Also you hinted that there were some better ones who got away due to grades. I presume not recruited = cant get into LSU with those ACT scores and D's on his report card, something like that.

Eh, or they just didn't want to come here/LSU didn't want them. Greg Monroe, LaceDarius Dunn, Demond Carter, Markel Brown, Langston Galloway, D.J. Augustin, Brian Williams, Marcus Simmons, etc.

Now, some of these guys weren't big-time recruits. But that doesn't mean they won't be big-time players. Monroe and Augustin are obviously NBA players, LaceDarius (all-time leading scorer in Big XII) probably will be too. Carter did great things at Baylor. Markel Brown will be great for Oklahoma State in the future, Marcus Simmons is a fantastic defensive player for USC right now. Langston is going to be a star at St. Joe's.

Louisiana has a lot of really good kids come out of small schools, because there are a lot of small schools in Louisiana. This is a major reason why Louisiana kids aren't rated as highly as they should be.

All of those kids could have qualified at LSU. There are a few others who we might have missed who couldn't.

I would like those in the position to make the decision to at least talk to Avery Johnson to see if he may have any interest in the job.He has ties to the Baton Rouge!

If that happens hopefully Avery has a good transition to the college game because he has never been a college coach before.

We'll have a shot at Felix and Gathers now as well.

Felix is the answer to our point guard problems. He is better than Stringer right now. Not exaggerating.
