You're not a football guy. Stop acting like it. Let the football guys discuss the technicals, just sit back and enjoy your apple tini.

It is les miles 2.0 with motion. There was zero imagination. Y'all wanted to fire Les because he ran this offense, now y'all think it is somehow inventive. This is what you get when you hire Ole Miss' reject over a National Championship coach.

Wasn't it like 7 yards a carry tonight?

Look how many formations with misdirection I can run the same play out of. Wasn't exactly what I had in mind but we'll see. In RZ looked not good.

Going into this game everybody knew we would be successful running the ball. The concern will always be about developing a fluid passing game. Being able to attack the middle of the field 10-12 yards. Coach O said Canada only used 10% of the playbook. Time will tell...

Once again, why does everyone want more passing when you have the best running back in the country and and average qb???

Who was the national championship coach that we passed over to hire Orgeron?

Smooth transition between plays and players looked confident in what they were doing goin out of the huddle. Plus holy hell, no bone head time outs. Yeah, I'll take Les 2.0.

Worth noting that DE was quite accurate, much more than last year, he release seems somewhat quicker, and the ball had more zip on it. Yeah, if those deep balls had been more accurate they would have scored, but last year that was a floater-overthrow.

BYU never really brought safeties down or run blitzed. They did try guessing gaps with the LBs but gave that up when they got burned off tackle a couple times. So there was no adjustment by BYU for Canada to counter with passing. They conceded 3-8 yard runs. We'll take that every day. And that's what we did. Hence, not much passing.

Sometimes the LBs and damn near every play the safeties were focused on keeping everything in front of them and not vacating the middle of the field. We chose not to play into their strength Les style; hence you got the play selection we saw.

Accurate , the Key for me was the Time of possession, Lets keep the Defense Fresh, I think to many people want us to avg 60 points a game, We dont need to , When you limit yout defense to 18 mins on defense , You doing something right

A lot of people can't seem to grasp this. BYU was not bringing in their safeties for run support and we were able to get consistent yardage in the run game. Of course we'll take that.

Our running game alone will win 80% of the games. The passing needs to be better developed for the remaining 20% of the games including Alabama.

Dude, there are so many options in those formations it's unreal. You saw a microcosm of the actual offense because they barely used any of the offensive options coming out of those formations.

How soon you forget the one and two receiver sets ALL the time under Miles where we either ran up the middle or threw to the primary receiver.

This is a completely different offense with tons of advantages and the ability to install wrinkles from these motions you hate so much.

Calm down and enjoy the ride.

No argument about that. And that's something that used to piss me off. I'm a believer in showing it early against weaker opponents that way the future SEC opponents have to respect and game plan for it.

When they are honest with themselves Monday the biggest critique of DE they'll have is he is still somewhat slow in his progressions. All other aspects he seems to have improved on since last year (or recovered physically).

I wanted 4-8 more passes just because. Preferably middle of the field intermediate. In future SEC play they need to fear that so they know they can't go crazy and put flying missile LBs wherever they want to and give them more keys to read.

However, the 3rd down passing was impressive as was DE and BYU schematically made it look too damn easy. So I'll save that bitch for another day.

Do want to note we didn't just "run up the middle"; we ran all along the LoS, middle, off tackle, wide, cutbacks, and straight ahead. That was a diversified run attack. We haven't seen that since Ware-Ford-Blue-Magee; the problem back then was you could almost guess the point of attack based on the ball carrier, e.g. Ware was between the tackles, Magee was wide.

ETA: oh, and 15 receptions to 8 different receivers. That right there, all by it's lonesome, says this is a way different offense.

Another idiot.

BYU played two deep safetys all night daring LSU to RUN the ball.

When is the last time we've seen that?
