I can promise you one thing. If we had lost by 3 in OT they would not be calling it a fluke!

Whether we would or not has no meaning. We would be playing the SECCG and you guys would waiting to play us in the BCSNC. Winner of the 2nd game take all. No diff except who wins the SECC.

Same with us, LSU.... if we don't beat UGA in the SECCG, we won't deserve to play in the NC.

I say this knowing full well no head coach would do such, but I am just trying to make the point..
If you dont earn it on the field, then you dont deserve it. When a game is played, the best team wins THAT DAY. Say we play Bama in the NC and lose, we cant say, "well, we both have 1 loss, so they really are not better than us". Bull, if they win, we lose... Its done, all this if, and, but, bull crap....

I kind of agree with you, but the trouble with this thinking is that you'd have a championship game with no one in it.

This was true a few years ago, but the prevailing opinions have changed. Now LSU is THAT team that gets the benefit of the doubt, gets to play for the Natty with two losses, gets to play for the Natty even if it loses the SECCG, will be in the preseason top 5. In short, LSU is becoming the team that half the people identify with and the other half despise. Beat Bama and LSU will have morphed into Notre Dame circa 1975.

14-0 greater than 12-1

this plus Alabama only would have 11 wins over FBS schools

So, LSU would have 3 more victories and a head to head over Alabama

SEC winners

Alabama and talking heads can have at it

No one will care or listen..

Case closed...heck it's not even close for debate frankly

I wish Shep would have scored that TD or MC17 returned that pick for 6. Shoot, much less Ford stay in bounds. We would not have to listen to any of this.

Some how I don't think so...

That was so funny. Seriously.

I spit my coffee on my screen.

I thought you gumps already claimed 14? Wouldn't this be 15 now?

Hardly.

LSU isn't an entitled school like Bama.

If we had played your weak schedule and lost to you in BR by one point on a fluke call by the refs, the media would be telling us "tough shite, you had your chance...and your coach is a moron".

We would never get the pimping you get.

I still think it is hilarious that Saban will be a guest on Gameday. Basically, ESPN is going to pimp Bama in a game they didn't even earn the right to play it.

That reminds me of USC in 2003. What a bunch of sore losers. LOL

told some peeps at work today that if we do not play Bama in NC, although we have no control over whom we play, that it's gonna be 2003 all over again. Talking heads still think we wouldn't have beaten USC that year & if we don't beat Bama AGAIN this year, they will say the same. So, in essence, we need to hope for this "rematch" or we r faced with possibly 3 "questionable" BCS crystal balls. Bring Bama on!!
(Although I guess we didn't already beat them, they beat themselves, in their own house....)
Bama nation would be alone in this since the AP also has us as a distinct #1. In '03 USC was AP #1 going into post season. Not the case here since all 60 votes belong to LSU

And your fan base would be bitching to no avail if the table were turned.. Oh we beat that arse already.. and we absolutely destroyed them in OT..

I still don't understand why LSU gets no credit for what they did in the 5th quarter when they completely took over the game. You didn't do shite on offense, and LSU could have scored a TD if needed at that point.

Exactly. ESPN is so biased it is disgusting. I really hate their network and I do my best to avoid it as much as possible.. except for when they have live events.

Say Mississippi St is Alabama this year.. is ESPN gonna have Dan Mullen on game day? Would ESPN be pimping them some Miss st?

I understand we potentially would have 3 crystal balls, but how can we go undefeated, hypothetically, beat all but Bama convincingly not be the unanimous Champ with no "ifs" involved for once? If our current resume was any other team in the nation, the media would be promoting them as one of the best ever. But.....LSU has to beat Bama one more time to prove it....

You make no sense. We beat Bama at their house. You are saying we have to beat Bama in the Dome "convincingly" to be the unanimous Champ?

If we win again by 9-6, that would not make your happy.

Look. If we don't play Bama and beat Okie St/VaTech in the Dome, there will be no doubt we are the champions due to the very fact we beat Bama already.

In 2003, LSU, USC and Okla did not play in the regular season and had very few common opponents. That was the issue. Not this year with LSU and Bama. Plus, Bama had home field.
