For real. When the game announcer has a MOTHERFLUCKING CORONARY HEART ATTACK when someone scores every few hours, there's a problem with the sport.
The rules of the game suppresses all offense. And if a team gets in trouble, they just kick to the goalie who punts 60 yards downfield. In hockey, that don't allow that and call it icing.
So the soccer rules are just horrific and make the game unwatchable.
Of course there's a lot of other things - the flopping, no clock, penalty kicks for mild penalties in the box, etc. that make it even worse.
If soccer would adjust their rules (like every other sport does) so the average score would be something like 6-5 instead of 1-0, then the game might actually be tolerable. But it's not.
And to all the citizens of the world who say that the game must be great because billions watch it, my answer is that that's because soccer only requires a ball and a piece of land. That's it. So poor folks can play.
That's the only reason soccer is popular around the world.
