Every team that is in strong contention for a top 8 seed has had wild ups and downs recently

Texas was dominating...then gets swept by Arkansas...who had lost their prior 3 series...before sweeping Texas. Georgia has the #1 RPI...and a losing record against ranked teams. LSU can't win on the road.

Everyone has flaws. But LSU with a home regional and super regional would be as tough to knockout as anyone. Realistically, LSU is probably about 4 wins away from securing a top 8 seed. LSU is 10-2 at home in the SEC this year. Taking 2 from Arkansas would go a LONG way to locking up a top 8 seed.

In 2023 LSU lost to Nichols on 4/25. They then lost two series to average/below average Auburn and Mississippi St teams. They went 1-2 in Hoover. The bullpen sucked, they had no Sunday starter, Floyd was inconsistent...then they came alive.

I'm not saying this team will do that. They certainly don't have the #1 and #2 draft picks on the roster. But it's probably a bit too early to declare the season over

I’m telling y’all…..

They’ll get the home regional and super regional…. that’s why they’ll make it to Omaha.

Doing damage in Omaha is another story.

Lol, that clutch Arkansas team that always folds up in the postseason?

Even if R Kansas won a couple games this weekend it won't matter much. They will lose in the postseason again long before they see Omaha.

The 2023 team won a title after losing our final home series to Miss State, who came to Alex Box with a 24-23 record, 6-18 in SEC.

We finished the season. 4-5 in SEC losing 2 of 3 series then got sent home quickly in SECT.
