If he had put Lee in in the third, down by 9. And Lee threw a pick 6 or been as lousy as JJ was, I would have second guessed the hell out of him.

In hindsight it is a no brainer. But yours is an interesting question.

Would the loss be easier to accept?

It would mean he showed JL a little fricking respect. It would mean he showed the fans that he wasn't going to live rounds in the chamber. It would mean he tried everything and we lost.

It would be A frickING LOT EASIER to accept.

It's 1000x times easier to accept a loss knowing that you threw the kitchen sink at them and failed versus playing prevent for 60 minutes.

The appearance is Miles would rather go down his way, than to try to do something different. The appearance of trying would have helped tremendously. From personnel to play selection, little to nothing changed. Yes, if he has put Lee or even Mettenberger in the game it would have made a difference in public opinion.

But I think most logical people saw that QB wasn't the only reason we got thumped

You are right, but I haven't seen very many logical people, especially on this board. Most logical people also know that there isn't a qb on the planet who could have played well with those plays and that o-line performance.

The best thing that ever happened to Lee is not going in that game. Now people can forever say he would have made a difference. Not going in that game made it possible for him to forever be a hero at LSU.

As it was, we simply showed Bama our arse and invited them to frick it.

This is the most complete and accurate analysis of the game I've seen on here.

The outrage is simply because Les didn't make any changes in personnel or plays

I disagree with that. If that was the only thing the outrage was about, I would understand it, because that is what the outrage should be about. Most of the stuff on this board and by journalists seems to be putting the blame on only JJ though.
