This game is not about who is standing across the line from our offense. It wouldn't matter if it was the 85 Bears or the Pop Warner League all stars.
Our issues are about basic execution. Can we get the play in on time and line up correctly without half the players looking confused? Can we execute a proper 5 step or 7 step drop? Can we eliminate the false start and illegal motion penalities and unnecessary sacks to kill drives?
Can we hit wide open receivers in stride?
These are the fundamental issues that we were terrible on last year. RUnning only about 40 plays a game is a reflection of those issues.

I agree, LSU needs to look solid and minimize mistakes.

UNC is similar to LSU in that they do have backups that are nearly as good as the starters but I am not too sure if EVERY back up would be that good.

you'll be able to tell by the look in his eyes and how he carries himself on the field if he's ready...wish they would work with his throwing motion and not have such a wind up...maybe he could learn some touch instead of throwing fastballs all the time...I swear id put his arse on the mound...

It is the first game of the season. I don't necessarily expect him to look spectacular.
WTF are you saying? Barkley looked just fine, Hawaii qb was fine, Utahs was fine, Miami's was fine, etc etc
And your telling me JJ shouldn't be looking good because it's early? He's been here 3 years. If that's the case, it's not early, it's too late!!
