You guys can't have it both ways. Either Miles didn't leave anything behind and sucked at the end and O did a great job with poor talent or Les left a pretty good roster behind and O did a good job despite the loss to Troy. BTW your god little Nicky lost to UAB and ULM

Saban inherited a bama team dealing with fallout from sanctions.

Absolutely,
The team lost to Troy. They were all gassed at half time. No energy. Danny Shitling over threw 70% of the deep passes and ran out of the pocket 60% of the time. The offensive line couldn't hold back a kicker if he rushed the line.
The team made the adjustments and moved forward. Although the season didn't look pretty. They stayed the course and made a decent finish.
Coach O is not the best choice for LSU, but it is what it is for right now. In all, the Troy loss belongs to the players.

beating auburn at home is something every lsu coach should do.

Whats absurd about that? Nothing really and it's not completely far fetched to where an opinion like that is stupid. It happens all the time. This team far exceeded everyone's expectations and imo the puzzle piece to that was losing to Troy. It's not like I presented it as a cold hard fact or a claim as you said and if you can't understand that's fine. Me being considered stupid for such opinion is where you exposed your faulty logic. Have you never played a team sport?

Texas last 3 classes have all been top 25. Two of them were top 15.
Jimbo also lost by 40+ points last year. He followed that up with a losing season. This, while being preseason top 5 and four consecutive top 5 recruiting classes.
