Why the hell would I start another thread on Tenn hiring Alleva? (Posted on 7/26/11 at 3:36 p.m.)

It's about money, as usual.
Alleva makes $550K plus benefits at LSU.
Tennessee was set to give Radakovich 800K plus benefits before the NCAA hammer dropped at GA Tech.

It's a two way street. If Tennessee hires Alleva, that would indicate that they don't think Alleva has been running a rogue athletic program

My source is I'm not an idiot. Think about it. Why the frick would a program like UT even THINK about hiring a guy if they think the hammer is about to come down on the school he's leaving? ESPECIALLY when they're about to have their own problems with the NCAA? It just doesn't make any sense.

Because he knows he will always be a outsider and I would think Tennessee throwed the bank at him, if its true.

I think it has more to do with the fact that his daughter lives in Nashville, which is about 2 1/2 hours from The University of UT

Like others said it is probably the money. Being that tenn is in bad standings with the NCAA they are probably willin to spend more to show "hey look we are trying to clean up the program"
