If all 3 false starts are called on the last drive the attitude is much different today

I know I know, don’t blame officials.. hear me out;
The defensive “delay of game” is one of the worst calls I’ve seen and set the tone IMO. USC’s QB whining 100% got them that call.
Then the kickoff after USC’s first TD, to me there is no way that ball crossed over the goal line in bounds based on where it landed (drive starts with a delay of game because BK was arguing this, so we start at the 20 instead of the 40). Total judgment call though.
So be it, neither really affected the game in the long run.. HOWEVER, the right side of USC’s line absolutely false started 3 plays in a row on their final drive, yet 1 was called. First was with :26 left, if called either USC has to burn their last timeout or 10 seconds run off the clock (unless that’s no longer a rule?), and they get backed up. So if the flags are thrown (with the fixation on encroachment/false starts all night I can’t understand how they missed them) 20 seconds or more run off the clock leaving at most 6 seconds and USC on their side of the 50 with no shot at even a field goal.
Can’t do anything about it, and we may have ended up losing on a Hail Mary or in OT, but those officials injecting themselves all game then deciding to swallow whistles ruined the ending of an otherwise great game between pretty even teams.

TD no matter what: "It's the refs"

It was actually the O-line and overall play calling, but the nail in the coffin of not catching a single break all night is inconsistent officiating.

That “delay of game” called on our d line was 100% going to be a false start until Moss starting crying. No idea how a player can change a call like that. I feel like that was an underrated crucial part of the game. Made it 2nd and 5 instead of 2nd and 15 and our defense was pretty solid early and would’ve had a very good chance at stopping them.

Yeah, it wasn't the refs, we just misfired and acted foolishly. I'm sure we'll clean a lot up this week in practice.

I can’t stand blaming the refs and won’t do it here, but they did miss some very blatant calls in huge moments of the game and on critical plays. My motto is always “don’t let it come down to that,” but they were really, really bad.
But USC was really good and won the game. Their QB is way better than I thought, their WRs are fricking awesome, and they may have the best combo of play callers in college football. I thought both teams were pretty goddamn good. Especially for a Week 1 game. They just made more plays than we did.

#66's 2 false starts were very disappointing.

It was more disappointing when he acted like ut was because he couldn't hear Nuss.
Give me a f'ing break. Just watch the ball.if necessary. Not leadership activity

This is what I can't stand about football. Literally if we had may a stop or one of those fumbles had gone our way, and we win this game, it's a totally different talking point this week.
The result of a close game should not be one team dropping 10+ spots and another one gaining 10+ spots. One team is not dogshit because they ended up on the wrong side of the final score.
