First off, I am not a miles hater. I actually like him and think he fits the mold and he is good at addressing our problem areas (at least in the offseason.)

But someone mentioned the possibility of will muschamp being a candidate for the job if miles were gone and I must say that is probably the best idea i've heard in a while.

So if we were guaranteed muschamp next year and and a 7-5 season this year would you take it?

my opinion is no. If miles can get 10 wins then he's earned his keep in my eyes. but if he should stumble i wouldn't shed a tear and would love to have muschamp. do you agree?

Muschamp loves his job right now there is no chance he would leave especially since he is the coach in waiting at UT.

There is always a chance, regardless of how slim. Who knows what it would mean to Muschamp to get to go head to head against Saban every season??? Or coach in the SEC? The Big Texas league is imploding, so there is always a chance.

Miles is not going anywhere though.

Why would Muschamp leave Texas? The SEC is way tougher to recruit in and compete against. Texas pretty much has its own way in recruiting in the state of Texas and to regard the competition in the confrence is a joke. It's a two team league in reality.
Muschamp can make millions, be a hero and compete for national championships at Texas. Why come to LSU? What is his incentive?

I heard from Georgia fans & family there that Muschamp would be interested in only two jobs in the SEC....Georgia & LSU....He is a graduate of Georgia and he worked at LSU under Saban, so I think he would be a great fit for either program...One of us should grab him at the first opportunity.

IMO, Will would be very interested, you can only be "head coach in waiting" for so long. Brown could be there another 10 years...

Recruiting at LSU is not an overly tough job, especially with our proximity to Texas.

He would probably be a great coach for us, but there's WAY to much $$$ in Texas.

The chance of us ever getting Muschamp or Gary Patterson from TCU are slim to none.

There are two kinds of Rich.............Rich and Texas Rich!

As long as they keep winning we can't afford them! Plain and simple.

He can do all of that at LSU. His incentive would be the millions, the opportunity to compete for championships, and being a head coach now as opposed to 5 years or so down the line.

Whenever Les Miles leaves LSU, I would be in favor of making a hard run at Muschamp, particularly if he's still a coordinator.

can't afford them? hard to believe we'd pay muschamp more than we pay mile now with no head coaching experience...

What is his salary at UT....? I think matching what we pay Miles and getting into the SEC would be a great jump for him.

Players adopt the demeanor of their coach. Miles is a good guy, but is missing that fire that he had when he first got here.

I think he is making 1 million/year as DC.

LSU would never hire an unproven coach at 4 Million/year. Miles came in at 1.8 million + incentives.

bullshite...he would take the LSU job this afternoon if given the chance. He has made multiple recruiting in roads in the state of Texas and he would have the entire state of La. to himself which produces great talent every year.

Brown is only about 55 years old and could coach for 5 to 10 more years. I don't think WM will wait 5 years to be a head coach.

He would be an idiot to urn down the LSU job.

Bo Pelini has always been my choice for LSU's next coach. That being said, I think the chances of us getting are slim. And it will only become more difficult when the Cornhuskers win the Big Whatever this year.

We had a slim shot luring him from the Big XII, almost no shot now that Bo gets to coach in the Big Ten.

But you never know. Money talks. I think LSU has to at least make him say no.

And, he would get the great support offered by the posters on this board! Who could pass that up?

Bo Pelini was (and would be) the best football coach at LSU since Saban. / thread
