Don’t get me wrong it obviously wasn’t TS anywhere near its best but it was a decent sized crowd given the early start and an average opponent not named Bama that for the most part stayed the whole game! It was my first trip back to TS in many years and from what I’ve been seeing on tv and mostly hearing what it’s like these days from posters on this board my expectations were really low. But I was pleasantly surprised by the energy and noise produced. It was fun and a decent send off for JD5 in my opinion.

Agreed, it was a good crowd.

And I stayed until the clock was 0:00, made the 15 minute walk to my truck, and was in free flowing traffic in 10 minutes.

I know night games are an article of faith around here but I really don't mind day games.

11 o clock games and 2:30 games are better for 2nd half of games.
Students and fans not scared to get out.

Would have been exponentially better with better D play.

I was too

Took my son to the game, got in our seats about 10am. About 20min before kick it didn’t look good, embarrassing actually. Then 5 min before, filled up quickly. Definitely no where near a night game, but it started rocking in 2nd half. .

I had not been to Tiger stadium in a few years, I agree the crowd was solid. Most glaring thing to me, we need a new speaker system in that stadium!

Crowd was loud for what it was. Pretty surprising.

It was still nowhere near capacity, so many open seats. However, it sounded full capacity on those few key defensive stops. Defense brings the noise, plain and simple. Always has, always will.

Well said. I go every home game so glad to hear a positive comment.

It wasn’t last year vs Bama but a great crowd and game.

I’ve been to a dozen games or more in the last 5 years, day and night, always stay until the end, and its been a 15 minute walk and 10-15 minutes of traffic every single time. It’s bizarre to me that the narrative on here is so different from the reality. Of course I’m not some dumbass parking across campus from the route I need to take to leave, so maybe some of these people aren’t lying, they just aren’t very bright.

agreed- which is one reason I was impressed. Half of the team was still clueless and under performing for the most part but the crowd hung with them. There were a few times when the defense would have its typical failures I half expected the crowd to begin to disperse, but I got the sense the crowd expected it and was used to the D’s incompetence by now and stayed to support the team and JD5.

That is very good to hear. I would have hated to see a sparse crowd on senior day.

I was on the west side. It seemed like it didn’t get full until midway through the 1st quarter. But I agree it was rocking once the people were fully awake.

Everybody likes to say the crowds suck these days

It’s completely untrue

It’s all a bunch of “back in my day”

I’m a season ticket holder for over 2 decades and I have never had a problem with traffic. Ever. And I stay to the end for every game. Leaving at halftime to beat traffic is just an excuse for not being a fan or not having an attention span that lasts more than 1 1/2 hours.

It's just overbuilt. If it was still 76 or 83k it would be packed for most games and tickets would be sought after commodities instead of trying to give them away.
