I unfortunately went to the UAB game in Saban's first year.

Horrible loss even though we upset Tennessee the following week

I was at the next game.

Still have some field turf/dirt in a ziplock bag in my closet.

I remember the walk back to the car. Sucked. But honestly these are the types of events that give me perspective.

We lived out of state at the time and almost never went to any LSU home games. That was my first game in Baton Rouge since Vandy in 1996 (which was my first game there ever).

We were offered tickets to the Tennessee game the next week, but my dad asked for UAB instead so we could see a win.

I can’t even remember if I went to that game. I’m getting old.

I hugged it out with Josh Reed after that UT OT game.

That was my freshman year at LSU. People wanted to fight Josh Booty after that loss. Then we beat Tennessee with Rohan and all was well.

You need to not go to any more games.

I was there at both. Tennessee is the game we stood on the field until overtime was over. I thought after UAB, Saban wasn't going to be at LSU long.

Sitting in the old upper section, towards the end of the game everyone is standing up, a guy had a plate of nachos, booty throws the pick, this dude throws his nachos in the air. That shite went all over a few people.

It was early in the season, I think. I remember Richard Condon ranting and raving about the terrible coaching hire. He wanted to fire Saban after that.
