And need LSU to beat Georgia and Kentucky to feel comfortable with a spot in a regional.

Just looking at RPI and KPI it's tough to argue objectively why LSU deserves the last spot over Florida, USC and Vandy

Florida - Just a bit over .500 but have the #1 SOS and beat LSU H2H
Vandy - Has LSU H2H at Alex Box
USC - Downward trend. Back to Back series sweep losses to finish the season

I see taking USCs spot as the only option and hope Bama takes care of them tomorrow

I can’t imagine a world where we beat Georgia and still don’t make it in

You are leaving out all the context that is in LSU’s favor and only focusing on the bad. LSU has the best overall record of the group and is the only one of those teams that didn’t implode down the stretch. Also there is no finite number of spots for SEC teams so it’s impossible to say who will get the “last spot.” I don’t head to head will really be much of a factor at this point. If Florida loses their first game in the tournament there is. A very good chance they are out. Sub 30 win teams rarely get at large bids.

But they aren't competing for a spot with just those teams. They are competing for a spot against the rest of college baseball. And if you want to look at it with the goal of having the best teams in, and not limiting it to X number from a conference, then the SEC will have 11 in.

LSU is the hottest team down the stretch absolutely and if it wasn't for the bottom of the 9th implosion at bama we are sitting comfortably.

I'm just looking at it on paper as if I was a committee member who watched 0 games or doesnt know which order the games were played

Would be a big surprise to me. They value teams getting hot at the end of the year and we'd be 11-5 in our last 16 SEC games, winning 4/5 series including a series win over then #1 A&M and a win over #6 UGA.

Our RPI would be in the 20s, our KPI even better. I'd bet a lot of money we're in with a win over UGA. I think we already sneak in, but a win tomorrow seals it.

That’s how I feel especially if Florida loses. Florida getting hot and winning several wouldn’t be ideal for us.

That's what this board always does at this time of the year. LSU just needed to sweep Ole Miss to get in is what the board said. Well that happens, so they raise the bar higher. Now they need to do this and this. And you can bet your arse off if they reach that bar they will move it again and say we need more to get in.

Then whenever LSU falls short of the 4th bar they will melt and call out players and coaches and say we will be sitting at home for regionals.

Excellent point. If we win tomorrow we have two more games after as well since it's double elimination through friday.

Do you think they pull homeless people off the street to make up the committee? Most, if not all, will have watched games and every single one will most certainly be informed on our schedule.

Agree

If the SEC gets 11 teams, we're in now. Anything < 11, we're the first team out. A win against UGA, would ostensibly put us in the SEC's top 9.

There is no context over head to head. All of those teams have higher KPIs. Losing to Vandy and UF at home is an issue.

Playing shite teams is NOT getting hot. Jesus.
UF played all of the harder teams down the stretch and MUCH MICH BETTER competition out of conference.

Who you play freaking matters people.

In my opinion, whether I’m right or wrong I think out of the 13-17 teams the ones who need to win the most are South Carolina - On a terrible skid of losses, 6 in a row, and even before that had been trending down. And Florida because of overall record so I think if Vanderbilt and Alabama wins it’s better for LSUs sake because I think Florida and South Carolina are the most in need of wins even tho they all need to win Tuesday if that makes sense.

Would tend to agree. I think anything less than 2 wins will be an issue especially if bids are stolen in certain conferences. That is always the problem.

This is a shite hold to be in.

Which is lower than other teams in the conference that they are tied with. The SEC is NOT getting 11 teams in regardless how you spin this shite. It has happened many many times just like this. What the frick makes you believe anything otherwise?

It’s not like the board picks. I think most people feel lsu has done good enough to get in but been around awhile knows the committee can say “ sweeping ole miss isn’t good enough”.

It will be a long summer if lsu isn’t playing post season baseball.

Where has it happened that teams 7-11 in the SEC standings had 13 wins and show me who got in and who didn't?
