ESPN is not letting them torpedo the story line of their possibly highest rated game of the year and the SEC is not pissing off their major source of revenue over hurt feelings.
Money talks and bullshite walks.

LSU should not accept any punishment whatsoever unless others are punished for their infractions too. We will cooperate with the league. We will not be singled out. If the conditions of being back in their gay little clique are to be a submissive little bitch, then that’s what we’d be for a long time. This is where the line is drawn. Best for all parties to let this go away before further damage is done.

that’s why they’re framing this as an institutional control issue
That there is the problem. And the naivety. To think that Kiffin acted alone and LSU brass doesn't have control of him.
When in fact Kiffin himself said they all talked about it and agreed to move forward (on recruiting those players legally able to be recruited).

Suspended or not. Ole Miss couldn’t really run the ball and wasn’t great stopping the run. Take away Alexander and his big plays and what do they have? I think Ole Miss knows they are in trouble with this team and it doesn’t matter what coach is on the sideline.
ETA: their Heisman trophy candidate/ineligible quarterback is also lucky he hasn’t throw 7-8 interceptions in his last 2 games. If defensive backs could catch he would have.

Why would he be suspended?

I don't know why so many on here. Keep talking about Lane kiff and getting suspended suspended for friggin what I mean. Why do people keep talking about him getting suspended now if he gets suspended I'll come in here and eat my crow. He is not getting suspended. We didn't do anything wrong. He didn't do anything wrong

I’m sure LSU encouraged or assisted the suit to the extent that every school encourages or assists eligibility lawsuits. This is what I was getting at with my singled out comments. If they want to go after us for that, then we need to put up a fight and let the lawyers find out how commonplace this is amongst our esteemed, ethical conference mates. I really don’t think anyone will want to open any of these cans of worms. Let it die and work the underlying “trust issues” out in a smoke filled room together like generations of SEC admins did before this, not by dropping chickenshit “we can’t work with these guys” comments to their media lackeys and hope we cave. Scott Woodward ain’t walking through that door.
