We were good in '05. But not Texas or USC good. '06 might have been our best team ever, but terrible play-calling at Auburn and not showing up for Florida killed us. If both of those games had been in Tiger Stadium, we would have skull-dragged Ohio State that year, too.

we could have won on the plains had our play calling not been shite. for a long time i was pissed at the refs but now its more les and jimbo. if we go shotgun all game we would have killed them.

uf was just horrible game all around.

They had a chance if everything had gone right... but Texas was a pretty complete team that year too

Wrong,

LSU's 2005 D was much better than Texas and USC's, but LSU's Offense conceded much in contrast to the two BCSCG combatants.

It was the 2006 team, that oddsmakers, draft experts, and other assorted so-called experts, that said was every bit as good as the Gators most all year and definitely by it's seasonal end. The 3-7 loss at Auburn, whether by HC, OC, Refs, and/or other, if a win, gives LSU a second look at the Gators in Atlanta. After the Tigers had totally gift-wrapped a "shoulda-coulda-woulda" loss in a day tilt in The Swamp. Ironically, Auburn the preseason #1, beats both at home, yet comes nowhere close to the BCS crown.

Who knows what LSU would've done vs UT/USC in 2005, but they'd to have brought their best offensive game of the year to win, even if those two teams were finesse and soft on D.

Who knows if LSU beats Fla in a 2006 rematch later in the year, on carpet, versus an equally as fast Gator team, yet they were slightly shakey vs FSU and then Ark late in the game, on back-to-back weeks. And LSU would've had strong motivation and a reference-point to work from, besides the obvious game-stakes.

If you had to say that LSU may have left an BCS crown on the table for other to run off with..it was 2006 and the Gators.

Agreed. With our massive number of turnovers - JR at the one, 2nd 1/2 kickoff,............ we could have taken them and won it. Miles did a great job in 2005 keeping the team together with Katrina and Rita.

Miles didn't realize that Holliday was not capable of fielding punts and JR fumbles when he runs. If he realized that in the Florida game, we would have won, and things would have been different. Bad assesment of personnel. I think everybody but Miles knew that Holliday was not ready to field punts.

If we would have had G.C. as the O.C. we would have 2 NC over the last 4 years.
