I'm stupid? You are the one trying to justify having a garbage offense by pointing out strength of schedules of teams ranked ONE HUNDRED DAMN PLACES HIGHER than your team.

Man, you don't have to reply to every post and give play by play too. If I didn't know he was dead, I would think you were Howard Cosell. No Offense

First of all, welcome to the board.

Our offense is very talented but frustratingly inconsistent. We do not have the running game we are used to having, and our OC has no commitment to the run even if we did have the running game.

What we do have is three of the best receivers you will see anywhere in college football in LaFell, Toliver, and Randle. They are tall, fast, athletic, and they make plays.

Jefferson is all of those things as well, but he is still learning the position of QB. Our offensive performance hinges on his performance, without a doubt. Jefferson is still inconsistent. He has flashes of greatness, then he'll get gun shy. He tends to hold the ball too long and take sacks.

But don't let the stats fool you. We have the talent and we can score. Furthermore, we have the defense to keep the game under control.

The defense, as somebody pointed out earlier, has improved each week under a new coordinator.

We have, in my opinion, the best cornerback in the country in Patrick Peterson. He shut down AJ Green and Julio Jones. Take your #1 receiver and forget about him, because Peterson owns that guy.

We essentially play a bend-don't-break defense that stiffens up in the red zone. We force a lot of field goals.

At any rate, we have a Top 10 defense in terms of scoring. We tend to keep games tight. We have been in a lot of close games this season, and we have won most of them. A lot of people felt like we could have pulled it off against Bama, and should have against Ole Miss.

Anyways, tell us more about your team, please, and welcome again to the board.

Hey... at least I am not like some of these people posting in this thread. I could use all caps lock, or curse to attempt to get my point across.

I would disagree with this

This I know is wrong because they are 12th at 16ppg

I can agree with this although moral victories do not count and a lot of those close games had no reason to be close. (ULL, Washington, Mississippi State, LA Tech)

My bad. They were #8 last week. I should have known the Arkansas game dropped us. But still, we're talking about a half a point per game between #10 and #12, and .7 ppg between 12 and 8.

We are a good defense.

Perhaps I overstated it, but you must admit that the defense has improved from the beginning of the year.

Oh, I definitely agree with this. We were pretty close to being 6-6. I'm surprised you didn't include Georgia and even Arkansas in that group. We have more talent than either of those teams and should have beaten both of them handily.

As far as the Washington game goes...I think you'll find that game was more of an anomoly than typical of our season. It was the longest road trip in LSU history. We had a new dc and a bunch of new starters on offense. They had not started school and had extra time to practice. They were generally pumped up about their new coach. They started the game hot. Also, let's not forget that the PAC 10 was very competitive this year, and this team beat USC (albeit in a down year).

Apparently so. And you can also click on the correct tab to reply to me instead of replying to yourself.

Really, I'm trying to justify it by admitting it sucks? Wow, yes, you are stupid.

For any PSU fans perusing the site, I offer you this.

LSU is very talented in the skill positions, but have some injuries at RB. The team has a poor offense, gives up a helluva lot of yds on third down (defense) and has a coaching staff that mystifies not only the fan, but our spouses who have to endure the angst we emit after watching LSU play. The offense is good for two drives a game, special teams is pretty darn good this year and the defense, no matter how good it may be looks incredible to us simply compared to last year.

LSU isn't impressive at all. Only played one really good game, vs Auburn and squeaked by some very average teams.

That being said....decent defense, average to below coaching and poor offense....I would worry a bit if I were an LSU opponent. LSU is winning playing crappy, one day they will put it together and will destroy someone. SO LSU doesn't need to play well to win, we know this but if they do, watch out.

For further example, out of the Top 50 ranked teams in total offense, 22 of them have pathetic SOS. Mad props to those that are highly ranked and have a strong or decent SOS. But the presence of so many scrub teams that don't play anyone worth a shite makes LSU's ranking look worse than it is.

If you're still not getting this point I can post more info.

Yeah I could have included Arkansas and UGA but well LSU really did dominate UGA they just could not put it in the endzone. I LSU was never in doubt to lose to ULL/LA Tech/Washington those were games that were closer than they should have ever been allowed.
Washington game I have mixed emotions, I knew it was going to be close because of the trip/DC/Washington improving but never thought it would be like that. Washington then upset USC which made me feel better about it being a close game then finished near bottom offensively and defensively in CFB with a 4-7 record.

That is what scares me about UNC next year, with the amount of talent LSU has to replace, it not being a home game, and the fact Butch Davis is a great coach and has recruited well. If LSU comes out of gate and struggles among offensive line, play calling erratic, and Jefferson is still holding onto ball that could easily go UNC way.

LSU defense this year... has really been hit or miss. We have yet to see them truly shut anyone down in a dominating fashion. The amount of yards given up is disturbing but they have not let opposition score but 18 touchdowns. So while some use good, I will use ok.
