Shepard has no idea what he is doing, ever.

He's learning, which is a plus. But to think and expect him to play flawless and be a QB that looks like a Jr is just stupid.

If he were to start and he bombed, people would be all over Miles' arse. So it's lose/lose for him. As always.

I'm not saying that...You nor I, really knows if he knows the position. All I'm saying is that I would imagine he has some sort of understanding of it, and knows some of the plays. And in the situation we were in, yes, I would have put him in the "Wildcat" let him run out of that, and if he had to throw, let him throw some high percentage passes, that's all.

Dude, look at what the alternative was, and look at the outcome.

What was the alternative? Lee? He actually did pretty good for hardly getting into a game at all this year. He led us to a TD score and he had a pretty nice completion on 3rd and long that was called back. He threw the INT when the game was pretty much out of reach anyway.

We were down our starting RB and Bama knew we had no threat to run the football. At that point in the game you had to throw the ball and Shepard leaves a little to be desired in that area.

So that's two plays that Shep can run. The Wildcat and screen pass.
Russell Shepard + 3 plays that he runs well >>>>>>>>>> Jarrett Lee and 20 plays he doesn't run well

I never would expect him to play FLAWLESS, no way. I'm not saying that.

I don't trust Shep going through receiver progressions fast enough against a team like bama.

I don't trust Lee enough to do the same.

Lee really didn't play badly at all.

Shep is not close to being durable enough to be running out of the wildcat every drive. He would take way to many hits and would be over on the sideline with JJ in no time

this is why he is getting lost consistently on the 4 plays he is supposed to run?

I'm pretty sure Lee was at QB when we scored a TD in the 3rd quarter.

man, oh man. ok. Dude has gotten "stuck" several times this season, and has continued to play. Don't sell him short.

Nope, not the sole reason. Throw in the refs, questionable calls, lots of injuries, etc. That's the reason.

Yeah, I was mainly commenting on the 'cramp' part of your post.

The pussification of LSU football players has begun then because I know that I partied late and hard on Thursday nights before a couple of Sugar Bowls and a Gator Bowl with key LSU players when I was at LSU and no one was cramping up then. (though we did lose the 2 sugars so maybe you're onto something)

lol and where have you seen him go in after those plays where he got stuck. Remember during the Georgia game where he got creamed he didn't come back till the end of the 4th quarter.

How did Lee play bad? The one interception when the game was already over?

I would imagine the people screaming that Shepard should have played are the same ones yelling that we need to get him on the field at all costs. When you start playing him at RB/WR it takes away his practice time at QB so he's less prepared for situations like this.

I don't necessarily agree that playing him at RB/WR is a bad move, but you have to understand the consequences of that decision. He simply isn't ready to play QB in this system.

shep should have played some after JJ went out. JL should have come in first but shep should have gotten in.

freshman can play in SEC look at Jeffrey at S. Carolina. he is a true freshman and has more receiving yards than either TT or BL. fyi, his QB has a lower QB rating than JJ.

freshman can play if COACHES get them ready.
