When he stated in a pregame press conference before playing miss state that we (LSU) literally beat them (Miss State) on inbounds passes under the goal that resulted in baskets.
I’m not laughing anymore.
Mike White schooled wade in that area tonight. And it wasn’t even close.
Now, that combined with the second chance opportunities and the piss poor free throw shooting tonight were the difference in the way we’ve been winning games and the last two losses.
I really don’t know if this team will ever turn a corner and play consistently for 40 minutes EVERY game resulting in games where we are completely dominant. Maybe it’s the fact that the schedule has gotten harder. So far they have been good enough and have shown enough grit and efficiency to win most games, even close ones. And that’s been their identity since the blowout against South Carolina. They can play with anyone as shown in the Kentucky win or play sloppy against teams like Arkansas and Florida.
I really hope this team can finish stong in the league and then evolve to the team we’ve seen at times but for 40 minutes.

Can you please stop with the fricking stupidity?
This team is 11 and 2 in conference play and has everything still to win and gain this season.
Stop with the sky is falling bs....
They got beat in OT tonight by a team that shot the 3 well. It fricking happens. Onto Tennessee.
What will you miserable fuxks be saying when LSU wins this game?
Enjoy the season and quit melting down over a damn sec sandwich game.
This team has the goods to beat anyone so lets see how it plays out when the games matter

Never said the sky was falling. If you think that, you didn’t understand the post at all.
If you want perspective, sure, we are what our record says we are and in a great position. If you want this to be an unexpectedly improved, very nice season, you’re gonna get it.
But if you want LSU to be the team that cuts down the nets then they have some consistency issues to get over. They haven’t yet. We just lost to an Unranked team at home. We’ve lost two of our last three games at home and in the other game we had to overcome a 16-point deficit for starting out flat once again and withstanding a game tying three at the buzzer. Those are the facts. Sorry they don’t agree with you.

This team has played essentially just as good as they’ve needed to play since the South Carolina game. When you walk that fine line some games just don’t go your way.
The body language in the introduction was worrisome. Waters especially. He just didn’t look like he was into it. It resulted in him getting benched very early, pouting throughout the second half, and Wade lighting into him after he missed the game-tying 3 in OT after the steal.
This team is talented. But they are NOWHERE close to good enough to just “show up” and expect to win. Tonight proved that. UF has played a brutal schedule this season. LSU didn’t intimidate them and it showed

They shot 36% for the game.

The point is still valid that Wade is a bad game day coach. I’m tired of seeing other teams with less talent hang with us because of our poor fundamentals, lazy passes, poor shot selection, etc.

Talent? Yes. Discipline/fundamentals? No, not anyone.

Please, oh wise one. What’s stupid about it?
Did we not get schooled on inbounds plays from the baseline?
Have we not been a team who’s identity is to live on the edge?
You fricking asswipes have no response other than to say someone’s stupid.

Alt26.
I have always liked your post and I think we see eye to eye on this.
I hated losing tonight. I know wade did too. He preached protecting home court. We still have to go to Florida.
You’re right about tremont. I assume there’s nothing wrong with him if wade laid into him after the game. Because I would have bet anything he had an injury (he wore an ankle sleeve tonight) or that he was sick.
Am I really that far off with my op comments?

That arse clown brings nothing to the table, just look at his post history. He must be an admin because he should’ve been booted a long long time ago.

Are you talking about Alt26?
I’ve been on the board a long time and have read many of his posts, mostly about basketball, and I agree with just about everything he talks about.
Neither of us are sunshine guys, nor are we all doom and gloom. I think we give honest critiques about things we observe. Many times Wade’s press conferences and postgame comments are critical of the same points we make.

Go look at LSU Assistant Coach and White. There you will find your answer.
Our assistant got out coached by his own player/ co assistant at Ole Miss.
I bet Wade was traveling a lot recruiting this past week. It is shite like that attention to details that show up when a team hasn’t been prepared well enough.

Yep. That’s literally what I’m trying to say.

You’re not off base. They’re inconsistent. Since USC they’ve played the best of the SEC and avg to below average teams. All games have been virtually the same regardless of opponent. Tight finishes late. Just when they look like they are going to get blown away, they respond. Unfortunately, just when they look like they are going to pull away, they make a dumb play in offense or lose focus on defense.
IMO, the reason is because they don’t have a ton of structure (on either side of the ball) to fall back on if/when things aren’t going well. They have a lot of individual talent that is more than capable of making a big play, but if the well dries up so to speak on the individual play making they are unsure of what to do.
Tonight is FAR from the end of the world. But you’re getting close to a spot where everything is one and done. Now is the time you’d like to see some stretches of consistency. Not necessarily a poor half followed by a great half, or even a great 10 minutes immediately followed by a terrible 10 minutes.
I hate to say it, but of the three teams at the top of the SEC you have to have the least confidence in LSU. UK and Tenn. (while clearly beatable) have consistently shown that when they are “on”, they are ON. LSU hasn’t been “on” for a full game in over a month. That’s worrisome come March where one 10 minute stretch of poor play could end an otherwise great season.
Now it’s time to see how they respond against veteran Tenn team who isn’t going to beat themselves

I gotta be honest with you, I’m not a big fan of Armstrong whe he has the game scout. The defense seem to struggle more than usual. I could be wrong, but it looks like he had the last two scouts and LSU’s defense was weak in both games.
The last two teams they’ve played were bad offensive teams and LSU has made them look solid. In fact, LSU’s defensive efficiency went from sub-50 after the UK win back down to 74 (right now). Armstrong was on Andy Kennedy’s staff at Ole Miss for a long time and those Ole Miss teams were generally some of the worst defensive teams in the SEC. It’s not a coincidence that Ole Miss is having such a good first year under Davis as they are MUCH better on defense than they were under Kennedy

Bingo. To everything.
Our last 6 games have all been decided by 5 points or less. Explains our points.
And another thing. I’m sick of losing to Florida in everything. We’ve lost 10 of the last 13 against them.
