well when the o-line couldn't do there job and open holes up then there was no where for them to run, but miles still should have come up with something

Is this going to happen ever again?

If it does, spankings will be forth coming

On and off the field!

IMHO....
we spent the first half trying to go east/west...
screens and runs..instead of north/south
1st, FL is too fast to go east/west on
2nd this allowed FL to play more men up on the line or close to it.

we were giving them no reason to back up and play deeper

Florida was commited to stopping the run and making our redshirt quarterback beat them. Pretty sound defensive strategy imo.

That's my thinking too. I mean, that's the ONE area we should've had complete confidence in from the beginning. UF reminded me of how Auburn's smaller, lighter front fours have gotten up our arses in some previous years.

When you have a power running game like we do and you get down 17 in the first quarter it takes you out of that game plan. That's why you saw more east and west plays from us and that wasn't going to work due to how fast they are.

If we would have come out and established more of a run game on the first 2 series then we could have used it to set up the play action game and made UF back off the line BUT since we couldn't and then went down so bad we pretty much had to scrap the run game early.

If we could have stopped them on the first series of the 2nd half we could have used more run game to play ball control since we threw it down the field to score twice but we couldn't stop them and again couldn't go back to the run game.

We have a lot of talented guys on the O-line but
they never played up to their potential the whole
game. We all know that Florida was going to try
to stop the run, which they did. What I cannot understand is our coaches knew that and Crowton
the genius he is could not come up with something
to offset what they did to the run. Heck we did not have but 2 weeks to figure out other options.
Our guys played like they had not slept in three
days. No energy at all. That was not LSU style of
play. I hope we can regroup be cause shiney pants is going to ready for us.

LSU underestimated Florida like FL underestimated Ole Miss-

If we were going to lose this is the game you wanted to lose- but not get wiped off the field

was a combination of 8 in the box the first quarter. we ended up 20pts down and then completely abandoned the run game in attempt to catch up.
