I sure hope we can develop Narcisse and our O-Line. Alabama's defense can simply not account for a DT quarterback.

That’s been evident for years.

... that can throw [deep].

I'll add that caveat. When they can't use those safeties all over the field, including but not limited to near LoS, a running QB can really affect them.

This. I'm always enamored with Bama's lack of pass defense year after year. Fitzpatrick is a fine DB, but he's by far all they have.

Dude we had WR open all night v Bama. DE either didn’t see them or could not deliver.

And I would add MSU played with a seeming reckless abandonment...a devil be damned attitude. LSU doesn't tend to play that way on Offense

If our QB drops in two more passes it's a completely different game.

If he did, he saw the same thing I did. Bama is vulnerable, we could have beaten them if we had a better QB.

In defense of Alabama, they have lost four of their top six linebackers. And it really showed last night.

Yes we do know. Exactly the same thing they did. The main thing is tgat LSU had a shot but missed about 4 golden opportunities.

Keep in mind Bama was hungover like we were Plus they were minus a few linebackers.
State benefited from us playing Bama a physical game. Years ago it was reversed. State played Bama before we did.

Along with jet sweep, I would also like to see us utilize the QB/RB/HB option. It was interesting seeing the designed QB runs for Etling in the Arkansas game.

Alabama linebackers tend not have great lateral movement, they're more downhill.

Having a RPO QB with what we already have going would open things up so much. The jet sweep is just a pre-snap read RPO. Just think if we had a post-snap read option to the opposite side of a jet sweep motion when LBs are focused on the RB and the S is locked in on the motion.

As long as that QB has an accurate arm.

DEs (defensive ends) would ruin themselves trying to defend all 3 including read pass and rush the passer.

ETA: such things can make an average OL (especially the tackles) look good to very good. Use design to make up for deficiencies. It's no coincidence now that Canada is installing more and more of his offense and plays the OL looks better. Yes, some of that is they are improving on an individual basis. But some of it is help from design (without removing receivers from patterns with max-protect)
