The playcalling was bad for JL? I'm pretty sure the play calling sucks all around. When you don't run anything with RS at Qb, thats terrible play calling.

Until the QB play dramatically improves this is not championship caliber team. Championship caliber defense? Yes.

1st, JL must look ABSOLUTELY orrendous to have only attempted 2 passes and mostly hand-off duties in the wake off JJ's play.

I have given up the fight and frustration of wondering why the offense is bad. JJ will start and hopefully we win. Miles is always a day late and a dollar short on his ability to correct problems.

Let's just hope for the best and take games 1 gate at a time.

No. Wrong. He couldn't even complete 32% of his passes against Tech. And he didn't go into that game cold. And it was at home. And Tech was a truly depleted WAC team, not ranked, not BCS.

Jefferson has never had a game below 40%. Lee has had many games where he threw for 40% or worse.

So he put up better stats against tech than what JJ did against a ranked opponent and 2 sec schools. Nice comeback

I think a lot of people forget that La Tech played Boise St in 2009 and gave them all they could handle. La Tech scored 35 pts on Boise.

Considering Lee has always been considered the best passing QB we have, don't you want to see if he has improved since he was a readshirt freshman.

If the coaching staff doesn't want to take too many chances with balls over the middle, then don't call for plays over the middle.

I would be happy with a quick slant to pick up a 3rd and 5, somthing Jefferson will not even attempt.

Lee wasn't facing the offense that scored 35 points on Boise.

Lee was facing the defense that gave up 45 points against Boise. Moore threw for 354 yards and three touchdowns against Tech.

Okay so tell me again how la tech scoring 35 points has anything to do with their defense?

this season. After taking a couple of 5-HTP and listening to a couple of voices of reason (not on this site) I realize that Coach has actually turned this team into a very good and even championship caliber team.
The two things that have had me upset is we haven't played the best quarterback and his not answering questions directly. But looking at this logically, we have a situation where we just don't have another good option at QB and Miles is just Miles.
I had to admit that these coaches want to win more than I do and are putting the best players on the field to accomplish this goal. So I've decided to admit my mistake and accept our short comings this year and enjoy a very good team. I believe he will correct this situation or be replaced (with no guarantee of someone better).

This is a great post, and I agree.

One thing occurred to me last night after Jameson #3, what if Miles is simply trying to get the fans absolutely SICK of Jordan Jefferson so that after he starts playing Lee, the fans will shut up when Lee struggles and not be demanding that he put Jefferson back in.

Because I can hear it now, should Lee lose a game by throwing a pick 6, "What the hell is Miles thinking playing that kid? He needs to sit that Lee boy down once and for all and just stick with Jefferson."

The problem is that Miles doesn't know the LSU fanbase very well yet. he doesn't realize that NO MATTER WHAT LSU fans will be demanding the he play whatever QB is on the bench - and he's an absolute moron if he doesn't.

From the LSU football stats for JJ & JL for the last 3yrs. Their overall stats % are as follows:

JJ(2008,2009,2010) 55.2%

JL(2008,2009,2010)64.2

I think fans honestly believe that their opinion makes a difference. A football coach making the kind of money les makes could give a shite less what the fans think

My point was that Dooly had a competitive team. While LA Tech didn't have a winning record they still played competitively even against LSU and Boise. Don't act like LA Tech was nothing.Lost to Utah St 23-21, Idaho 35-34, Boise St 45-35, LSU 24-16, Fresno St 30-28.

I guess we will agree to disagree bc I don't think tech defense was good at all.

Here are the amount of points they gave up last year:

Auburn: 37
Navy: 32
Nevada: 37
Utah state: 23
Idaho: 35
Boise: 45
Fresno st: 30
San Jose st: 20

But yet we only score 24 against them with who y'all consider our savior in JL

Dude, please tell me that you did not just add the three years' averages together and divide by three.

Tell me you did not just throw in a 100% average for Lee for 2010.

Because if you averaged in a 100% average for Lee for 2010, that might tend to skew the results and make them worse than worthless.

I'm not saying that he wouldn't do better but lets not assume that he is definitely the best QB. I'm pretty sure if it was clear cut, then he would be playing. The coaches are not going to intentionally play the worst player.

I don't trust Miles with shite at this point. The only thing that has been established conclusively this year is that JJ is one of the worst qbs in the nation. Plan B has to be an upgrade. Plan C (RS) would probably fit this scheme better than either but Miles has obviously decided that RS is incapable of throwing a pass and that makes RS as qb too predictable.

Ryan Periloux and Zach Lee had nothing to do with our lack of QB talent here right?

Perriloux would've graduated by now and Zach Lee woul've been a freshman so actually they have nothing to do with the QB situation.
