I dont like the constant changes either. Most baseball players would rather know where they going to hit from day to day.

I have nothing for or against lineup changes, but it reminds me of one of my favorite Earl Weaver stories. One day, a reliever came to Weaver to complain about his undefined role. Sometimes he'd pitch long relief, sometimes he'd come in and get one batter in a huge jam. He asked Weaver to define his role. Weaver swore at the pitcher a few times and said, "Your role is to go warm up when I tell you and then go in the game when I tell you and then get people out."

I feel much the same way about lineups. And most major league teams change lineups fairly frequently. But considering our struggles against lefties right now, we need to be trying new lineups.

What is wrong with PM designing his lineup based off of the opponents starting pitcher? His approach has been the same every year he has been the coach at LSU, and it always seems the lineup he puts on a day to day basis on the diamond does pretty well. Just because major league or college baseball teams don't "always change their lineup" doesn't mean that PM changing his lineup makes it odd or wrong. The fact of the matter is he puts his players in a position to win based off the pitching matchup on a daily basis. His resume speaks for itself.

If we had a good coach, we would have won the SEC.
