Oh, come now. I think you meant "alluding". "Eluding" means escaping from.

CPB wasn't anything like CLM. Bryant was a fire breathing hell raising arse kicking type personality. He worked hard and partied hard. Les is just kind of weird, perfect for you LSU folks but a strange dude. I also actually thought about how we might accept the NC in some kind of split ceremony (if we won a close one). But only for a minute. For one I'm not sure Les would accept. And then I'm damn sure Saban wouldn't offer it. Did LSU do that to UT in the 2001 SECCG? No. Who was your coach then? My assessment of the game which is the same as it was before the last one. Bama Offense>> LSU Offense Bama Defense>= LSU Defense LSU K/FG >> Bama K/FG Since Nov 5 LSU has improved RB play from more than just Ware LSU QB play has reverted to 2010 levels LSU HB7 doing punt returns like Arenas did Bama TE play picked up big from Smelley Bama AJ confidence a little better each game Bama KO coverage gone bad I had Bama winning by 10-14 pts before Nov 5. (yes, I know we lost).Nothing has changed that IMO. Game changers would be if JJ found his throwing arm, or if we gave up some cheap points like we did in the Auburn game.

What were the 5 best offenses Bama's D played against?

LSU's were (from memory):

Oregon
Bama
Arkansas
Georgia
WV

Scoop,

You are not the only Alabama fan I know that spouts the "We had to beat Florida twice in the same year just to get to the championship game" line. Looking back at your 2009 schedule I see you did actually play Florida teams twice, but one of them was Florida International. So please Alabama fans, stop using the "we had to beat Florida twice" to eventually win the BCSCG to try to make your point that what LSU is doing this year is nothing unusual.

Otherwise, I agree that Scoop has been a pretty level headed Gump.

The only reason I have our defense>=LSU's is because we are #1 in every important stat.

Turnovers? I don't know, just asking.

SEC championship?

The last time Alabama played Florida twice in one season was 1999 (once in the regular season and once in the SEC championship game). Alabama fans seem to have selective memory (or at least the few I have spoken to that claim they had to play the same team twice in 2009).

SEC offenses aren't great and that's not my point.

#1 in all these categories hasn't been done except once in the 1930's. (ESPN quote). That's all that needs to be said.

But if you want to go there then just using SEC stats Bama is allowing 180 yards and LSU is allowing 224. You're second in the SEC but that's still a significant difference. This does not include the UGA game.
SEC Only stats

Total Offense Bama is 1st and LSU is 4th, again, SEC only and not including SECCG against UGA.

Les Miles has the respect of every reasonable thinking Bama fan after beating Saban twice in a row and going undefeated this year. But he is kind of weird. This is what I was talking about below on the quotes. Its kind of cool if he's winning. Kind of like the savant or Howard Hughes thing. Successful but different.

LSU is No. 1 in TO margin at +12. Bama 2nd at +9.

We both had 2 on Nov5.
