Is it just me or does Bama have more than most colleges of non-college attendee fans? I mean it seems like most of their fans are in this class. Not that shocking I suppose.

notice his answer was not my family all went there or my kid goes there...
LSU has fans like this also, but Bama is way worse.
its totally ok to like a team and/or call them your team without any affiliation... but dont walk around with swagger and pride when have NO affiliation. (just my opinion)

Affiliation with it?? Did you play on the team? So are you saying that in order to be a TRUE fan that you can only do so after the age of 17 or 18 when you attend college there? LOL! I've been a fan since I was old enough to understand my Dad speak.

That's your opinion. So you can only walk with swagger and pride if you attended the institution. So I can't be a Saint's fan? I'm not from Miami, can I be a Dolphins fan?

A good friend of mine has been a Yankees fan since he was a kid, and goes to a home and away game every year. Is he not a 'real' fan?

I never went to LSU, but I was born in NOLA and have been a fan all my life. And I consider myself a better fan than some LSU students who don;t know shite about football or LSU's history.

I guess, in your eyes, I can;t walk with swagger and pride?

Pretty shitty logic. But then again, this IS the Rant.

Geez, where did you go to school? If they teach 'insite' as a word, I'm better off not having gone there.

They keep talking about all the missed field goals. No one mentions that they missed them from 45 plus yard away, and one of them was blocked, not missed. Those were long, not gimme kicks because they could not get into the LSU redzone. They act liked they missed 4 extra points.

The best way to make sure you make the field goal is to score a touchdown. The one right after that is easy.

What does that mean? That this one fan doesn't represent the majority of Bama fans? How 'bout the link I provided on page 2 from TideFans where several people completely discount the Nov. 5th loss? And another thread noting that on a radio show Bama fans claim that game as a TIE?

I hate to break it to you and your circle jerk pals but - brace yourself - Bama LOST on November 5th.

I had a Bama fan see my LSU shirt in Kroger this week and just blirted out at the meat counter "we'll never miss four field goals again". They really believe it was a fluke and didn't really lose the first game.

Should have asked him what it felt like when ne poisoned the trees in Toomer's Corner. He sounds like the type of guy who would have relished the opportunity.

if they had had a field goal kicker the score wouldn't have even been close

Yeah, I understand this argument. I heard that it wasn't until just prior to kick off (I have an inside source which stated approximately 5 minutes) both Miles and Saban were made aware by the refs of the fact that during the game, field goal kickers were going to be allowed to play. My source said that both coaches were suprised to learn about this newly changed rule yet both agreed to still play the game. BAMA does have a point!

I agree. Field goals shouldn't be allowed.

Had they not been allowed, the final score would have been an LSU shutout.

AT LEAST 7-0 LSU since we kicked a field goal inside the 5 before halftime.

you should have asked him how many times they made it inside our 20 yard line.

This. With all the stats and other useless stuff the talking heads have been spewing since the rematch was announced (and even before), I don't think I've heard this once.

yes. I think if you are in the state of Tennessee as an Alabama fan and your defense to "Did you go to Alabama?" is "No, but that is my team" you sound like a tool.
Did his dad go to alabama and he grow up watching all the games? maybe.. but prb not...
to arbitrarily select a university as "your team" and go around talking shite.. is fricking weak.
There is no "WE" in this scenario (is my only point).

Not trying sound like a dick. Just a pet peeve.
Sorry for putting S where a C belongs.... must have been poor education...

"I didn't know that _______ Community College was part of the University of Alabama system. I learn something new every day"
