re: I guess Matt Flynn was better than JaMarcus Russell after all

Flynn didn't have 3 and 10 point shitbombs like Russell did that cost them games. Auburn '06 was one of the worst games I have seen a QB have at LSU. Florida '06 was pretty horrific as well

Then you evidently have not watched many LSU games. Jamarcus was 20-35 for 269 yards. He had no turnovers. We lost the game because of no rushing game (42 yards, 1.8 average per rush) and shitty officiating.

quote:what about the other 4th quarter game winning drives he engineered? Uway is knocking Jmarc because apparently he only took control in the 4th quarter when needed. Your saying he was completely inept when needed most. This shite is insane. The guy almost completed 70% of his passes!
And JR demonstrated how incompetent he was in game winning drive vs. Auburn. Complete ineptness on his part.
Based on today Flynn was the best college QB in america in 07. Better than Graham Harrell, Matt Ryan, Colt Brennan, Chase Daniels, Josh Freeman. What were Les and Jimbo thinking not starting him. shite, based on today he is a top 5 NFL QB! What were all the NFL guys thinking letting him drop to the 7th round?!
Flynn is a good QB who obviously has worked a lot harder post college than Jamarcus. He also was placed in a much better situation. But there is just nothing that suggests that he was better than Jmarc in 2006 and nobody has offered anything in this thread to suggest otherwise.

Anybody who thinks Flynn outperformed JR in college needs to stop watching football, because they clearly don't understand it

Not on Flynn, dumbo. Plus, he was well aware of the time thus why he hurried once he realized the coaches didn't want a TO.
Its amazing all the inside knowledge you have on what goes down on the field during LSU games. You know that Jimbo was lying and Jamarcus really never checked out of plays and may have been given a max of 2 plays at the line and you know the communication in the huddle and what the QB is thinking.

You notice hard facts like stats don't matter... yet opinion and flimsy assumptions are the basis of his argument. Real facts are discarded if they don't fit his argument.

Of the two i always thought flynn had the better brains and had a bigger future

Jamarcus was still better in college.
A National Championship is MUCH better than a strong arm and stats.

20-35 for 269 yards
JR didn't lose the game, the playcalling and lack of running game played a bigger part

Putting that on the QB is pretty silly. Both QB's played on teams that lost two games their last season. Flynn benefited from playing in a fortunate year.

So Tee Martin > Peyton Manning?
Posted on 1/1/12 at 10:49 pm to I Speak As I Please
quote:They both led teams that went 10-2. If anything the '06 losses were much more reasonable than the 07 losses. With Flynn's incredible brain and breathtaking leadership its amazing that he let his team lose the final game of the season at home to an unranked Arkansas team with a national championship appearance locked in with a win.
A National Championship is MUCH better than a strong arm and stats.
Why dont you guys just make the next logical step and declare Flynn better than Rodgers. McCarthy is just as inept as Miles

A great question for TigerBandAlumnus.

No big suprise to see you take this side of the argument. I'm starting to see a pattern develop here, and it's not just that you are completely wrong.

DP40 normally takes the side against the black player.

Tigerbandalumnuts (and about 10 other Rantards) agrees with that message. To think someone like him infested our great Tiger Marching Band is chilling.

Come on, JR is the more physically gifted QB and Flynn is the smarter/better game manager. Flynn is a Bart Star/Joe Montana type of QB.

ok for all the JR lovers out ther here is the main reason why Flynn is better now and was better then, he is not about him self when he is on that field, it is about the team and getting them to play for him and around him, leadership is what made Flynn the QB he was and is, and thats why the selfish QBs never make it long in the league. They have to be willing to keep fighting and playing no matter what the score is, take Scam Newton, yesterday he looked so out of it in the 4th qauter and you already knew he gave up just looking at his face. So you think a team will play hard for that? nope. Flynn is someone that makes people around him better, and any team will be lucky to have him next year, while JR is sitting on his couch eating a Big Mac wishing he would of been the leader Flynn was

hey dumbarse as much as i hate Brady you might want to look at your logic when you say that, lets see if you remember where he was drafted.....
take your time dont want you to hurt yourself....
in the 6th round right before the 7th, if your train of thought is based of where people get drafted then JR should still be the best in the league, watch out record books i see a comeback!

When one lacks an argument...throw in the race card.
And it's all you(and HC) got.
There were quite a few skeptics of JR coming out of college because of his inconsistency and lack of leadership and they were right...based off of his college days.
I was one of them...I was wrong in thinking he would done by year 6 or 7....it only took 3 years for NFL teams and a life coach to consider him toxic.
