re: I got this feeling that Brandon Harris is about to shock us all this year

Common sense, Harris is no worse than Jennings and has a ton more potential. Why stick with the tackling dummy? I mean he can take hits right?
Because coaching isn't as simple as putting the most talented guy on the field. Anyone can do that.
Coaching staff wants the kid to grow up. If he's going to be the leader of the entire team, he should be outworking everyone. If he's not doing that then he's wrong.

The problem is that he needs to put in much more effort to succeed.
Please tell us how AJ has succeeded?
He did manage to accumulate the worst stats in almost the modern history of LSU

Saying "well AJ sucks" is not a sufficient rebuttal.
This is about whether or not BH is doing everything in his power to be the leader for this team. This really has little to do with AJ.

It hs EVERYTHING to do with a sufficient rebuttal.
You see, you are trying to give examples of a normal qb battle and what it takes to step up and take the job.
My point is at LSU last year, it should have only required being alive. We he the worst qb stats in the SEC and almost the entire country.
So yes, I understand your point as it would pertain to a school like aTm and BH needed to do the things you say to overtake the fresh.an starter there.
But at LSU? BH was named the starter last year. That means the coaches decided he was our best chance to win. Auburn had us beat from the start. He should have been left in the game so he could learn what it feels like to settle down and overcome his nerves and catch up to the speed of big time sec road games. Instead, it was squandered and he was replaced by the guy who the coaches had decided gives us less of a chance.
BTW, that guy came in and got us ZERO points in mop up duty. I bring this up because guys like you like to say BH only looked good in mop up duty.
This is a pattern at LSU for whatever reason. Do you have any doubt that Mett was a better qb than jj or Lee the second he stepped on campus?
So the shirt answer to your topic is, no one knows what bH has to do to shock us and get pt.....it is obvious to even the dumbest fan that AJ hasn't been able to compete at the level needed.
Instead of wondering why someone hasn't overtaken him, why are you talking on why AJ hasent been demoted?

Because everything that I've heard is that the coaches love the way he prepares and how he busts his arse in practice.
AJ may not be very talented, but you at least get the feeling that he's trying as hard as he can. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
I wonder why Harris's supporters don't expect more of him? There are not many things that irritate coaches more than talented players that don't make the most of their potential.

Rohan Davey had talent. Josh Booty had work ethic. See how that turned out.
Not sure what your getting at? Your saying Josh Booty didnt have talent? He is to this date probably the most highly decorated player of any postition to ever sign with LSU. He also is in 3rd place for most passing yards for a sophmore QB in LSU history and was First team All SEC.

Well, he succeeded in beating out this unbelievably talented game-breaker. You know, the guy who would win every game if he only got the opportunity. Except of course the game in which he got an opportunity

People who bring up the Auburn start as a reason Harris shouldn't have played more down the stretch need to revisit AJ's N. Mexico State game.
I really don't care who starts or who plays the most as long as we get at least average QB play. I mean, 60% completion pctg, 2,200 yds and 18 TD's can't be that difficult for an SEC QB.

So did Rudy!!
....if BH tries half arse and it is better than AJ's production, he should start, period.
Does Kragthorpe try hard in practice? Play him if that's the criteria.

Well that sad if you think he should be able to get away with half-arsing it just because he's the more talented player. I hope he doesn't actually think the same way.
If he's not busting his tail now he's sure as hell isn't going to do it when he's the starter and doesn't have to compete for it anymore.
