Shepherd has wasted his own time! He just hasn't developed into the Athlete he was recruited for. I will agree however, that a direct snap-pass of sorts would potentially be a good idea.
I dont think he wasted his own time but the direct snap-pass option should have been implemented...or at least something to tske advantage of his talent

faster, but not shiftier. Shep's a pretty shifty dude.
You are watching different games than I am. There were several times when Trindon juked a defender out of his boots. Shepard tends to juke his way into getting blown up more often than not.
I'm not trying to hate on the guy, but there is a reason why a guy as small as Trindon is playing in the NFL, and it isn't pure speed. Otherwise, Usain Bolt would be an All Pro.

He is averaging about 7 yards per carry for his career. The dude has been very misused.
He isn't a WR. He is a RB/wildcat

So, what? We switch to the wishbone and stop throwing altogether?

He would be a Heisman contender at Oregon without a doubt.
No he wouldn't. Not sure why people keep saying that. He'd have touched the ball more and contributed but THAT'S IT.

Because they got the re-re genes.

It would take a lot more to prove that to me than seeing what I have seen of him so far in our offense. He is just as fast as Barner....maybe a bit less than Thomas (if any). That is all those two dudes have basically is speed. None of the three will make it in the league but given the right scheme and situation speed can kill in college.
DAT and Kenjon both have great hands. Neither drops the ball. Barner is tougher. RS would have been behind other players at Oregon.

Way to go to extremes.
Get him 7-10 touches a game out of the backfield on short passes or runs.

Had he gone as a Frosh to Oregon, his development would have been totally different. Watch his HS film.

Dude gets straight up body slammed every time he runs the ball.
Or to be more accurate, one time in his entire career this past Saturday

I wonder how you think De'Anthony Thomas would do at LSU? or Kenyon Barner.
I know they'd catch the ball but they'd also be misused.

I truly do not understand these coaches' decisions sometimes.

He exhibits bricks for hands far too often for this.
Look, the guy should get a few more touches out of the backfield, but he also needs to consistently catch the football if you're going to put in designed throws to him.

They would use him as what he is a quick scat back. Not a damn slot wide reciever. Any LSU fan can tell you that Shepard is not a slot reciever.....yet Les continues to send him out there in the slot.
Actually, he would be used as the tazr position. That puts him in the slot. He'd get some jet sweeps and a carry or two but he wouldn't play RB cause Lamichael James/Kenjon Barner are tougher so that puts him at the tazr which means he'd have to be able to catch the ball.
You should quit talking about a team you don't know about tbh.

Semantics. They may not be actual body slams, but he has been stonewalled several times. Honestly, they should probably put in some no-back sets and motion him into the backfield with Mett in shotgun, but I'm afraid of the thought of him picking up a back side blitz.

I agree on the development part, Oregon does a good job of that, but I still believe he'd be a backup with the other talent there. He'd still get to contribute though. Oregon plays a lot of players on both sides of the ball.

Yep, I think 7 ypc warrants it.
