What if those two teams were actually better?

LSU does not have a monopoly on baseball talent. There are a lot of very good baseball players out there. And it is the nature of the game that a team can suddenly get hot where every thing comes together for them. Conversely what has been a good team can have a lot of bad things happen all at once.

What is amazing is that LSU baseball fans tout themselves on being knowledgeable about the game yet they forget that. LSU has won games they "should have" lost and LSU has lost games they "should have" won. What in the hell "should have" means.

Relax, enjoy the games because that is what they are....games.

I don't like the way he manages games. For example when your leadiff man draws a walk in the 3rd inning I don't think you ask your 2nd hole hitter to sac bunt on first pitch...let him work the count. I would also like to recruit players with more power. He just irks me.

Boom.

They weren't, and LSU had a to be beaten twice in a row by both of them, in Alex Box Stadium, and after losing game 2 we got blown out of Game 3 both times.

Houston loss was inexcusable. Let's not act like Stony Brook was a bunch of scrubs

Lange pitched out of bases loaded jams in two straight innings in game one vs. MSU. Was he left in too long? If he had gotten shelled, you would be claiming he should have been taken out. If a reliever had been lit up, you would be complaining because he was taken out.

Hindsight is 20-20 and baseball is the easiest sport to second-guess.

safetyman, this post wins!

I guess the obvious question would be "how do you know"?

hint: you don't. nor anyone else. it is impossible to predict the future.

My theory is that some people think it makes them appear to be more knowledgeable than they really are.

Plus measuring PM against Skips run in the late 90's is not really realistic.

Not to mention most people panic in the 5th inning if the team isn't ahead.

I don't either. I understand expressing specific concerns but it's hard to argue with his performance overall. The fanbase was spoiled by Skip's phenomenal success but the game has changed. There is more parity. Programs have upped the ante. Look at all the stadiums that have been built or remodeled.

The comparison to Miles are totally baseless as well.

1. This is so tired and played out on here

2. The strict comparison of results between those two sports might as well be like comparing apples and coyotes

You are judged on championships. LSU is a Mecca for baseball thanks to Skip. CPM has won one and hasn't come close to winning another. What's so hard to figure out????

How often would you like LSU to win a championship? Nobody has been a powerhouse since LSU in the 90s, so who's a better program in 2017?

ETA: hasn't come close? Lol cmon dude

Yeah they're likely going to miss out on a regional and fire their coach this year. Let's strive to be more like them
