I think we win by 10-14, but this is pretty retarded. There are plenty of ways to lose this game.

It's equally possible that we get gashed for 400 rushing yards again, or hold them under 100. Neither is likely.

Les Miles will not blow anybody out. He likes to keep it close and squeak it out. Does anybody like our FG chances at the end of the game with the clock winding down? If he misses in the first half, it may be a sign of things to come later. We cannot fumble, throw interceptions and have stupid penalties on big plays (called back TDs or INTs). Miles' teams always seems to have trouble in the first game with turnovers and penalties. Defense will lead us to this one. Oregon won't score two offensive TDs. They may score on two pick 6s, but not on our defense. It's all on the offense. If we pound the ball and open up the secondary, we win in a route like A&M. If not, it's going to be a long year.

The team, under Les Miles, has comfortably won several big games, including last year's Cotton Bowl.

This being true, the converse is also true, that LSU under Les has won a lot of squeakers and very close scoring games. So with this one, it remains to be seen if the scoring machine will be up and running for LSU or for Oregon, or both -- or if this is going to wind up being a "first game" for both team, full of jitters, miscues, and mostly resting on the strength of the defenses to win or lose.

BTW, if it becomes a scoring shoot-out, I'm not sure I see LSU winning that kind of game. Defense has always been our trademark and greatest strength, even pre-Les Miles.

You're an LSU fan? Yet you don't know that Ware is from Ohio? I smell bullshite.

WTF are you talking about??? I was referring to the fact that the majority of LSU's players are southerners, and the south produces the best talent imo. But people like you act like as soon as a kid leaves the south his physicality goes away...it's a joke really. I am very aware that Ware is from Ohio, my point is that if he were playing for Ohio State instead of LSU you would automatically discredit everything he does.

Oregon could score 40 and it's not gonna be enough playa LSU is gonna do whatever it takes. Oregon is the kid who just hit puberty and he thinks he can take on his old man.. well.. LSU has been there and done that, gonna give you five across the face just because they can.
