they accepted the job knowing that's the case - if you make 6 figures at a D-1 school, you have to answer to more than just your boss.If you feel that's unfair, find a different job path

Katy Tiger:

I think Les took a very talented team and just put things in reverse. He not only didn't help, he actually destroyed most of the teams morall and faith in themselves with his poor coaching. I think the defensive side of the ball is worse than J. Lee and the offense. J. Lee definetly had his problems and he has never shown he can stop making the same ole mistakes, and I think Les stayed with him far too long for the good of the team. The Defense couldn't stop the run, cover anybody, and always looked confused. In my estimation, there was really no coaching or teaching on the defensive side, and Les has lost touch with the former dominating defense LSU has been known for. Because of the soft defense and conservative (playing not to lose mentality) approach he has taken the fight out of this team as they are all frustrated and discouraged because of poor game plans and adjustments. Going with the Co-DC deal was just a horrindeous decision in the first place.

This is the first year Les has really had to show if he can coach, and I think he failed miseribly in every facet. So, my opinion is that if he does not make some changes and a of good hires to that staff, we may be looking like the Gerry Dinardo days again. Maybe we should thank Nick Saban a lot more than we do for what he did for LSU.

I wouldn't be surprised to see LSU lose some commitments after what they have seen from the LSU Staff. There will most probably be some rethinking by many of these recruits.

Oh, hell no, you and others on the rant read like you're waiting with delicious bated breath for LSU to lose recruits just so you can wail, piss and moan, "I TOLD YOU SO!".

CLM wasn't my choice for LSU's HC, but he's here now and in spite of the absurd contentions on the Rant and elsewhere that Saban's recruits accomplished the phenomenal, never-before-seen in the annals of CFB history of coaching, implementing new plays, game planning AND executing on the field all by themselves with a moronic idiot CLM looking on stupidly from the sideline, the man did manage to bring home an SEC and a national championship.

It's pretty bad up here in NE Ohio when Buckeye fans think we're all a bunch of spoiled rotten, whiney azz ingrates.

My, my, my how revisionist history works. Forgotten how everybody but Stoops and OU viewed LSU as the illegitimate step-child in 2003 with USC the REAL national champion? How everybody but Tigah fans thought we didn't deserve a shot at the NCG because ESPN, et.al., anointed Petey and USC "the best team in CFB"?

While I appreciate all Nick Saban brought to LSU, wanted coaching continuity at LSU with him staying to sustain what he built and continue to wish him well except when he plays LSU, I'm not blind to the fact that Nick Saban was just as fortunate in get a shot at the crystal in 2003 as CLM and LSU were last season.

If ADs fired existing HC's and hired new HC's at the whim of disappointed fans, UF would've dumped UM after last year and we'd have sent Saban packing after the last second bumble against Iowa, had he not already taken the Fins soire in Miami.

I don't know what's going to happen with LSU FB in 2009, time will tell ... but I do know this, because I want continued success for LSU FB, I hope CLM gets mistakes and issues corrected and the team headed in the right direction. I'm damn sure not hoping the man fails miserably so I can glory in it just because he wasn't my choice to begin with for HC.

What a bunch of whiners.
