The Hunt Palmer Show | June 8, 2023

He does say he thinks Crews will win it, but based on what Jac is doing on both sides, he would be the appropriate choice for the award.

I would have voted Ohtani for MVP over Judge last year, and anybody else this year if healthy.

Caglianone had a .401 OB% this year..

Our entire starting lineup had a higher OB% than that, except for Jordan Thompson, whose OB% was .399

Hunt…leave the bullshite-stirring to Moscona.

It makes sense because he did it on both sides, but if we are talking about the most dominant player in the NCAA, who was also the most valuable player to his team…. It’s unquestionably Paul Skenes.

Fan vote is a small % of total, but LSU fans may well split the Crews/Skenes vote...which would favor Cag.

Also, consider how good Crews/Skenes were

————-

Caglianone hit .299/.370/.684 SEC games

Crews hit .405/.545/.685 in SEC games

—————-

Caglianone had a 5.05 era & 1.59 WHIP in conf games

Skenes had a 2.15 era & a 0.84 WHIP in conf games

A remarkable stat that doesn't get alot of mention is that Crews has reached base in every game this season.

A case could be made for any of the three but Crews gets my vote.

None of the three would be a stretch to win. Hunt and Hanny rarely have hot undeveloped takes and this isn’t one.

You must not listen to games on the radio. Our boys mention it multiple times a game

I enjoy both the novelty and the volume of Scaglione's season, but in conference, he didn't really have as big of an impact as I would have thought pitching on Sundays.

They ate more conference losses on Sundays then I would have guessed. I would have figured he would have provided Florida with a big advantage in game 3s. Doesn't really appear to be the case.

Also, this is a very reasonable take. As a pitcher or as a hitter by themselves, clearly he isn't a Golden Spikes guy, but the fact he did both at a pretty high level is very rare and pretty damn awesome.

I still think it should be Skenes. He just absolutely dominates out there. Looks like a Cy Young guy playing college most of the time.

I clicked Crews pic and a popup appeared with his stats.

My boy been hitting evveerryythhing. Fast balls, curve balls, tall hoes, skinny broads, large uns, old and fun. Just hope they gave him a "helmet" every time he took the field.
