re: How tf do you blame this on coaching?

That's a great question OP. Let me start by saying do you ever watch UNC, Duke, or Syracuse? Well those teams have what you call a "basketball coach" He has his players pass the ball around and set ball screens until they get easy high percentage shots! Lsu just plays street ball. Sure last night we played a legit top 10 team and lost, but what about all the losses to sucky arse teams 2 years ago, and last season, and this season??? JJ is a horrible coach and if we don't make the tournament with this team he should be fired.

The loss last night isn't the problem. The problem is our sloppy wins, and losses to lesser opponents. We have talent but don't have an offensive system pick n'roll etc...

Yup.... But until dale brown and Hollis temple are forced to get their greedy arse hands out of the program it ain't happening. They will try to use their influence to manipulate and keep "their people" running the program. Nothing personal against JJ, but he is an assistant at best right now. He just can't get it done. Temple and brown have too much influence on the program. There is no reason LSU can't get a new coach from outside the "system" to come in here. The money is there to pay.... But god forbid the king of AAU doesn't get his way....
What had JJ done prior to this that qualified him to coach this team and compete at this level? Nothing.... Other than Hollis and dale wanted their guy in....

It doesn't surprise me that you would be quoting South Park. Again, kudos to your wife. And I'm not your buddy.

I agree 100%. Dale Brown obviously recruited well but his coaching skills were a joke. Temple parades around the AAU scene like Vito Corleone. The end result is Brown's protege coaching a bunch of guys who have learned their fundamentals from watching "and one" commercials.

I didn't quote South Park...
If only the creators of SP could go on to do other things like win 9 Tony awards, including one for Best Musical with similar humor.
Saw it on Broadway last week. Pretty great

quote:This is pretty much it. LSU ran some offense and didn't finish.
On 5 straight possessions we had ridiculously easy looks and didn't hit a single fricking one. 12 points left on the court
Coaching how to sink 5-10 footers should be instilled before ever arriving LSU.
The 4th on Victor seemed to put team in a funk and Simmons seems a more affordable loss.

His only solace was he was smart enough to not go on a message board to complain about people that post on message boards.
He left that for the fools.

which is why I added:
"only because that would be hypocritical." to the end of HIS tombstone verbiage. Get it? So I'm saying the only reason he doesn't complain about people that post large amounts on message boards is because it would be hypocritical being that he has nearly 22,000 posts himself.
I know it's probably not "pie in the face" funny to you...but I thought it was at least OK given the context? Come on give me some credit son.

Do you understand what a quote is?
When you said nemesis, were you quoting Despicable Me?
Tell me more how Bill Self doesn't run a Hi Lo offense
Once again I'll have to leave for a while. I look forward to seeing your 3 post reply

While I would like to see a more disciplined approach in the halfcourt, the above is absolutely a fact. At least a dozen shots missed were layups or very short shots. Yes, Ben was fouled a few times with no call but this is big-boy basketball on the road. LSU could very easily have kept that game close and the effort became worse with the passing of each blown lay-up. Disappointed much more in the apparent lack of fire late in the game than in the loss itself.
