I don’t know CC. Sam is usually pretty bullish on our chances to land recruits and good coaches. If he’s feeling pessimistic then I’d probably trust that

Well you should be hearing his name. He’s the best coach in LSU basketball history but he will not be the DL coach

It’s not just him, all of our insiders blow dick at predicting hires. Everyone of them missed on BK, they all missed on the special teams hire.

You forgot to put quotation marks around “insiders.”

Why? So he can try to stab another HC in the back and twist the knife like he did Miles?

Just saw this list that Sonny did yesterday. Between this and On3 looks like the only name mentioned twice is Bo Davis.

quote:

When you pay your head coach $9.5 million a year like LSU pays Kelly, money should not be an issue. A few names with ties to LSU and/or Kelly have been floated around over the weekend. Below, we look at some potential replacements we have picked up from sources and why we feel they would or would not make sense.

Looking at some options for defensive line coach

Bo Davis Texas
Mike Elston Michigan
Rodney Garner Tennessee
Gerald Chatman current LSU anaylst
Derrick Leblac Arizona Cardinals
Karl Dubar Pittsburgh Steelers
Dennis Johnson Baylor
Pat Hill Minnesota Vikings

Miles put himself in that position but that was a backstabbing plot by O and aided and abetted by that convicted felon.

I don’t know if he’s worth a damn as a DL coach but Garner is probably the best recruiter on that list. That dude has been bringing in studs for like 30 years now at every stop.

Someone like Jimmy is most likely I think. It’s very unlikely to get a big name to leave during everyone spring drills going on

So we can get poached during spring ball but don’t have the prestige or the money to do the same to someone else? gtfoh

Calm down man. Sam brings objective posts time after time. No doubt he’s a true Tiger fan

Embody dropped this name as an option and I’m intrigued:

Chidera Uzo-Diribe, UGA OLB coach

quote:

An up-and-comer in the coaching ranks, Uzo-Diribe is a terrific recruiter, who was a former standout at Colorado. He’s jumped up the coaching ranks quickly, spending a year at SMU as defensive line coach before going to Georgia in 2022 after a cup of coffee at TCU. There are some ties between Uzo-Diribe and some folks in Baton Rouge that’d get him on the radar for the job. With Tray Scott in Athens, Scott would have to leave for Uzo-Diribe to get the whole room. At LSU, he could get the defensive line group and get back to coaching the players with their hand in the dirt, something he desires. He’s got SEC recruiting experience now and won a National Championship this year.

He was identified by On3 as an immediate impact recruiter for his team this spring, reeling in five-star EDGE Damon Wilson, beating out Ohio State, and landing four-star Samuel M’Pemba. The California native is a rising star in the recruiting and coaching world. He’d certainly listen if given a chance to interview.

Definitely intriguing. An accomplished coach and only 30. Would sure hope he gets an interview.

Wow! The story reads like you would want to put all your eggs in the basket with him, very high prestige.
