And again CEH is clearly our #1 guy. Great vision, great shiftyness, great blocking, decent hands out the backfield.
And great at reading defenses (and where the pass rush will come from). CEH is a perfect fit for this offense.

Putting aside yet another manufactured controversy by Buckeye Jeaux, this comment deserves special attention:
quote:

If the rushing attack is "great", then Spread/RPO blocking schemes are not being used.

The #1 and #2 teams in yards per carry last year were Oklahoma and Clemson. Both averaged over 6.5 ypc.

ETA: In the words of Buckeye Jeaux..

It appears that there are guys in the program who want to handcuff Brady's offense

Eh, he dropped at TD Saturday

Hes gotten beat on blocks, and he doesn't have break away speed. You say perfect, but hes just good and the best we have for now.

Remember

quote:

Running backs are here to run the ball and catch passes. They’re not signed to play at LSU because they’re dynamic blockers. That’s what offensive linemen are for. Are they going to have to do it? Yes. But the more we can get them in the routes, the more defenses limit the packages they can do and it allows us to do what we have to do.

CEH is in sync with the QB, which, IMO is the MOST important consideration in any Spread/RPO scheme.

Both Emery and Davis-Price have a huge upside. But, are not there yet as to the technical side of the RBs assignments in this offense, IMO. They will likely get there fairly soon.

I think you agree with most of how i feel.

I think we agree the offense overall shouldn't change to try and become better running. I think we both agree CEH is the best back for now. I think both agree that it would be Ideal if Emery and/or TDP could step up and do more.

You can run well in this offense, and i think the opportunities are there. we already run the ball a decent amount. And we are getting better there too. Did you read the advocate article about them changing the run blocking scheme back to a traditional zone?

LSU is #1 in the country in RED Zone TDs. That is where rushing really matters, and LSU is crushing it (to say the least)

And LSU doesn't need a run game between the 20's. They are passing for 12 yards per ATTEMPT! And when they do need an RB, CEH is now at about 5 yards a carry.

Great innovations are like wet cement. Everyone wants to get their handprint in it.

I don't think anyone coach would turn down a good running game. And like i said, we don't need to do anything different. We can keep doing what we do no, just do it better.
