How Much does Scheduling factor into your enjoyment of College Football?

Scale of 1-10?
For me it's a 9. This decade so far compared to 2000-2010 had been a major let down for me.
1) I have always been against scheduling cupcakes. I would be okay with one a year. But Sam Houston, Towson, Furman??? Come on.
2) I hate neutral site games. If you want to see a game in Dallas or Atlanta or Houston, go to a Saints away game.
3) I am really upset about the 6-1-1 format. I like playing Florida every year but think it is a cop out for the SEC to stay at 8 games in conference. We should be at 9 like the others and it should be a 6-1-2 format.
I don't like where CFB is going for all these reasons involving scheduling, and I'm just not as excited as I used to be for the upcoming season. Anybody else this affcted by scheduling factors? Scale of 1-10?

I would much rather LSU play a Va Tech type OOC home game, instead of a cup cake, or a decent OOC on a neutral site...but, none of those things have taken anything away from my usual kid like giddyness of anticipation for the upcoming FB season.

10...only read the title. Didnt read your post. Just moved to Houston after 10+ years in BR.Only willing to make the drive every so often. Probably making more "away" games than home. Away - Wisc, a&m, ark (gotta finish up all the SEC stadiums). Home - MSU, bama.

I'm so ready for college football that when the first game gets here, the scheduling takes a back burner.
I just enjoy the season. It goes by so fast.

I like the format where we get a lot of Ws. In other words, it doesn't.

Scheduling since 2010 has been FAR better in this aspect I dont even know if its debatable. Over the course of 10 years Va Tech was the only real team OOC we played. Otherwise we had a 2005 7-5 ASU, 2-10 Arizona 2003, 2006 6-6 Arizona 5-7 UW in 2009 coming off an 0-12 year. Compare that to in just 3 seasons Rose Bowl winning Oregon Orange bowl winning WVU, 7-6 UW and TCU.

I rarely watch any major team play a cupcake.

Though I don't like cupcake games, we have to "keep up" with 'Bama i.e. we don't want to endure a lot more wear and tear from playing 9 or 10 legit teams versus 6 legit teams for the Gumps. We need to be in good shape by the time early Nov. comes around. Let's face it: for the next few years, that's the game that matters.

I'm not sure if you watched LSU football in 2000-2010.
Or 2011-Present.
I think an argument could be made that LSU has played more good OOC teams in the three seasons after 2010 than in the entire 10 year stretch you seem to long for as the Golden Era of scheduling...
And if you compare 2010-2013 to 2000-2009 I definitely think 2010-2013 had better OOC games.

I enjoy when it when the team I'm pulling for plays a worthy opponent. Would much rather see LSU playing Oregon or Oklahoma than North Texas.
College football should be about big time schools matching up with each other and not a series of rent a wins.
So, in that regard, schedule plays a vital part in my ability to enjoy the sport.
