I say when saban was our coach no one cared about him being a father or how much of an a-hole he was. He was hired to be the head coach. Look at what he built at LSU. Not only did he build a powerhouse he left a legacy. The academic center for athletes is a huge tool for recruiting. CLM and future coaches are the benefactors of what Saban built.

You totally missed the point of my post. There is literally no way you can deny what he built at LSU and what he's done at Bama. Insanely impressive. He's an amazing coach, recruiter and motivater.

I was just pointing out valid reasons that people would hate him. I don't hate him for those reasons or any. I have a strong disdain for him because he is our primary competition, built and coaches the only program that is superior to ours, and his job description involves destroying LSU.

You have to respect the guy. Love him or hate him, he is the greatest college football coach of all time.

He was/is a shitty father, there's really no getting around that.

I wouldn't know...I have never met the man. I think his son was kicked out of CHS.

Plus, didn't his daughter just pretty much beat the piss out of one of her sorority sisters at Bama? See, it's in the Sabans' blood. They're full of anger from Nick all the way down. I'm glad they've completely been exiled from BR. It's always dribbled around in the media here how he still owns part of the chilled water plant at Perkins Rowe with Tommy Spinosa. But when you think of the correlation between the two - that they're actually friends - it just keeps revealing Saban's character flaws. That he'd be friends with Spinosa makes perfect sense.

For years, Tubberville was reviled at Ole Miss after he turncoated for Auburn. I had no dog in the fight and I thought that was just as chickenshit as what Saban did to LSU. I'm waiting for the day when he totally puts the knife in Bama's back too. It's coming. Don't know when, but it's coming.

No. He has the potential to be, but he's not there.

This is really the only reason to hate him. I say that b/c we all loved him when he was "our" a-hole.

I hate the fact that the Miami Dolphins lured away our only truly intelligent coaches, Arsparger and Saban, before supplying Bama with their coaches, Shula and Saban.

Sure that's just a coincidence, but it still bugs me.

It bugs you that Bama had Shula? He's by far my favorite Bama coach of all time.

No reason to hate a person that coaches a game.

Does not make sense to me.

I can see where some of our fans would, though. I knew when he went to Bama he would be great, simply because now he would be allowed to cheat to the fullest extent with no backlash.

And no, he's not "the greatest coach ever".

The GOAT wouldn't need mulligans, favorable officiating, rigged schedules, and extensive media favoritism to accomplish what Saban has accomplished.

Does he have potential to be the GOAT? Yes.

I can't believe this thread and all its love.

F $abun.

Hes is an ego maniac and belongs with the gumps. He would sell his mother if it gave him an advantage, no matter how small.

The guy is a first rate blow hard who loves to hear himself talk. Did i mention he is a liar.

If it wasn't for LSU, bama wouldn't even know who he is.

And thats another thing, What does it say about a school who is willing to pay a ridiculous amount of $ to get someone to break an existing commitment.

F him and them....wish the NCAA wasn't such a joke. They pay the most for their COACHES and THEIR PLAYERS. Damn shame really

He was a bust in the NFL because he couldn't be the slave driver that he can be in college. Grown men won't take that shite.
Thats also why many of his college players don't do so well in the NFL.

I never blamed the man for leaving for the NFL and then taking the Bama job. If the LSU job had been open prior to the '07 season, he probably would have taken it, and we would have welcomed him back with open arms.

However, I did lose all respect for him and Bama during the '11 season. I've never seen an SEC program go to such great lengths to undermine on-the-field results of conference play simply because they didn't want two other schools in their division to win NCs back-to-back. The disrespect he showed to us and UGA by pimping his team on ESPN in front of the GA Dome prior to the SEC Champ was disgraceful. His players whined about losing on their home field and not one of them congratulated us on beating them head-to-head and winning the conference outright. Poor sports, to say the least, and I have no respect for cheaters and poor sports. They diminished the importance of winning SEC divisional and conference titles simply because they couldn't handle the fact that they lost, and it cost them the SEC title and should have cost them the NC.

LSU fans piss me off even more than the gumps sometimes.

All too often LSU fans buy the bama spin on things.

Look at this thread.

Sabun never liked the NFL. blah blah Thats gump spin and him lying. They backed up a truck load of money in his yard and he took it. Plain and simple.

Exactly what point are you trying to make? That Bama wanted him and wanted to win so they gave him a lot money to coach there? OH, THE HUMANITY!

They do?

How many schools hire a coach and make him the highest paid coach before he ever coaches a single game for them?

Its for this reason that i hope $exton and $abun use the Texas job as leverage and make bama pay 10 million a year or more.

Buying victory with obscene amounts...I contend not just their coaches but also their players.

Who cares? Wouldn't you say that has worked out pretty well for them? Maybe it was a good decision to throw all that money at him? I would say so.

Oh, so you want Saban to stay at Bama? Yeah, you're an idiot.

oh so only a school willing to pay more than any other coach has ever made is shitty?

If a coach is at Ok St. for example and LSU offers him a better deal to break his contract...that is perfectly acceptable

Yeah i don't give a rats arse if $abun stays at bama.

LSU fans defending $abun or bama really are pathetic.
